With 25 kWh pack, you will get 80-82 bhp power, 114 Nm torque and 265-315 km claimed range (MIDC). 120 bhp power, 190 Nm torque and 365-421 km range will be available in 35 kWh pack. Some reports suggest a new 40.5 kWh pack and a range of up to 500 km. However, official confirmation regarding this is yet to happen.

Interior and Features

The cabin of the base variant is simple and comfortable. There is a dual-tone blue and gray dashboard, which gives a clean look. A corporate steering wheel is provided, but mounted controls are in higher variants. The seats come with new upholstery, but extended thigh support will be available only in higher trims. Driver seat height is also not adjustable in the base.

Boot space is 366 litres, which is quite good in its class. There is no big infotainment screen. It has been introduced with basic audio system. The Smart variant has the basics like city and eco drive modes, remote keyless entry. There is no advanced infotainment or wireless charging.

There has been no reduction in safety. It has 6 airbags as standard, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Indirect Tire Pressure Monitoring System (iTPMS), ABS with EBD, Hill Hold Assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts. It has a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, which is much better in the segment.

Engine Specifications

The base variant of Punch can be purchased with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It is capable of delivering 88 PS power and 115 Nm torque. Transmission option is 5-speed manual, turbo or AMT is not available in the base. This engine is sufficient for city and highway driving. ARAI claimed mileage is 20.09 KMPL.

Although the official prices will be announced tomorrow, the price of the 2026 Tata Punch facelift is expected to be slightly higher than the old model, whose current ex-showroom price ranges between Rs 5.50 lakh to Rs 9.30 lakh. The price of the new entry-level Smart+ variant can be around Rs 6 lakh. If this happens, the updated Punch may lose the title of India's most affordable SUV, as the Hyundai Exeter micro SUV is currently available between Rs 5.74 lakh and Rs 9.61 lakh. There is likely not to be much change in the engine setup. The new 2026 Tata Nexon will get the existing 1.2 liter turbo petrol engine, which generates power of 120PS and torque of 170Nm. However, it is not clear whether the 1.5 liter diesel engine will be available in the next generation or not, as it may change due to the upcoming BS7 emission norms. CNG fuel option will remain available as before.

price increase decided
Considering the cosmetic changes, feature upgrades and mechanical improvements, the price of the new 2026 Tata Nexon may see a significant increase. The price of the current model starts from Rs 7.32 lakh and goes up to Rs 14.15 lakh (ex-showroom). Prices of the new Nexon can start from around Rs 8 lakh for the base variant and go up to Rs 17 lakh for the top variant.

New Delhi. India's two major automobile companies-Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra are going to update their popular models in the next 3-4 months. Tata will launch punch facelift in October, followed by petrol versions of Harrier and Safari SUV in November. On the other hand, Mahindra will introduce updated Thar 3-Dore, Bolero Neo and Bolero SUV before this Diwali season. Let's take a look at these upcoming Tata and Mahindra SUVs.

Tata Panch facelift

In updated punch, designed elements from Panch EV can be taken such as new front grille, changed bumpers and new headlamps. The micro SUV may also have newly designed alloy wheels, redesigned tailgate and ultraz-inspired LED tail lamps. The interior will include facilities like new two-spoke steering wheel and blind spot monitor, 8-spicker music system, ventilated front seats and 6 airbags. The 2025 Tata Panch facelift will come with the current 1.2L NA Petrol and CNG engine options.

Tata Harrier/Safari Petrol
The Tata Harrier and Safari SUV will soon be available with a new 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine. This direct injection motor generates a maximum power of 170bhp at 5,000rpm and 2,000rpm – 3,500rpm torque of 280nm. This will suit the BS6 Phase II emission standard and E20 fuel. The new petrol engine will be introduced with manual and automatic gearbox options.

Mahindra Bolero/Bolero Neo facelift
Updated Mahindra Bolero and Bolero Neo have been seen several times during testing, which has revealed the major design changes and feature upgrade. 2025 Mahindra Bolero Neo can have features such as 10.2-inch large touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging pads, ventilated seats, wireless Android auto and Apple CarPlay, Kelace Go System and Push-Button Start. In the case of the engine, the SUV will have an existing 1.5L, 3-cylinder MHAWK diesel engine, which generates 100bhp power and 260Nm torque.

Mahindra Thar facelift 2025
Mahindra Thar facelift will take several design elements and features from Thar Rocks, while the existing engine options will remain intact. Spy image shows that the updated SUV will have new G-shaped LED Signature for new grille, new alloy wheels and headlamps and tellamps. Inside, the new Thar will have a 10.25-inch large touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charger in center console, Grab handles on A-pillars, power window switch and other facilities in the door. There will be no change in the engine options, including the existing model 2.0L turbo petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 2.2L Turbo Diesel Units.

New features
The 2025 Tata Panch facelift will have a new two-spoke steering wheel with the new Ultraze. It will also have 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple carplay and Android auto connectivity. Touch-based HVAC control panel can be taken from Panch EV. Tata can also include ventilated front seats and upgraded 8-speaker audio systems in the new punch. The same petrol and CNG engine will be mechanically, new Tata Panch 2025 before. The compact crossover will continue to use 1.2L, 3-cylinder natural aspirated petrol engine, which generates 87bhp maximum power and 115Nm torque. CNG variants will have the same dual-cylinder I-CG technology.

New Delhi. Tata Motors has prepared to return many new generation models, facelift and special edition with seven new names. Future's Tata Product Series will be based on different platforms. The price of these models will be between Rs 10 lakh to 20 lakhs, including petrol/diesel, electric and hybrid segments. In the sub-4 meter SUV segment, the domestic automaker will introduce three models, including Tata Punch facelift, Tata Scarlet (fully new) and Next Jane Tata Nexon.

Tata Panch facelift
Changes in the design of 2025 Tata Panch will be inspired by Panch EV. It will have thin headlamps, redesigned bumpers, new LED DRL signature and new alloy wheels. The subcompact SUV is likely to get a 10.25-inch large touchscreen infotainment system, a full-fledged digital instrument cluster and two-spoke steering wheels like ultraz. A touch-based HVAC control panel can also be introduced. For power, the updated punch will continue to use 86bhp, 1.2L NA petrol and 73.4bhp, CNG engine.

Tata scarlet

Codename Scarlett, a fully new Tata Compact SUV will come with Boxy Stance with inspired design elements from Sierra. This will be based on a monocock platform, which will support several powertrains. While the official engine details are not currently available, the new Tata Scarlett Subcompact SUV is expected to be introduced with 120bhp of Nexon, 1.2L turbo petrol, 125bhp of curve, 1.2L TGDI petrol or a completely new 1.5L petrol engine. An electric variant of scarlet can also be introduced later.

New Jane Tata Nexon
Tata is also working on the new Nexon. The new model will be designed on the new design of the current X1 architecture. 2027 is expected to upgrade major design changes and feature for Tata Nexon. The existing petrol and CNG powertrain option is expected to remain, while diesel can be discontinued due to upcoming BS7 Emishine Standards.
