Tata Motors' iconic SUV Sierra has recently made headlines again. Even after its launch, the new Tata Sierra has been spotted testing on Indian roads. This time the exhaust tailpipe visible in the spy shots is attracting special attention.
Auto experts believe that this test mule can either be of CNG version or the AWD (all-wheel drive) variant is being tested. Both options are included in the company's plans and they are going to give direct competition to Maruti Suzuki's popular SUVs. What does Tata Sierra get?

The design of Sierra gives a modern touch with a retro look. Bold front grille, muscular body and premium features. What updates to expect?
The currently available variants have 1.5-litre turbo petrol and diesel engines, which give good performance. But considering the demand of buyers, Tata is accelerating work on CNG and AWD versions. The CNG version will be attractive to those seeking fuel efficiency and low running costs, especially in cities where CNG is easily available.
The AWD version will provide better grip off-road and in bad weather, which will keep the 4×4 heritage of the original Sierra alive. The ARGOS platform supports AWD and if demand is good then it can be launched in 2026.
