Tata Sierra EV has been spotted testing several times in India. It was recently spotted during road tests in camouflage, which included cold-weather trials and rough terrain evaluations in Leh. This SUV has confirmed its EV identity with a charging flap, no exhaust pipe and independent rear suspension. This new e-SUV built on Acti.EV platform will be positioned between Curve EV and Harrier EV.

In the midsize electric SUV segment, it will compete with rivals like Mahindra BE6 and Hyundai Creta EV. Expected to launch in the second quarter (April-June) of 2026, it may promise retro-modern styling, advanced features and a range of up to 500 km. Estimated price is around ₹15-25 lakh. Both midsize SUVs get an all-LED lighting setup, but the Sierra gets rear fog lamps and puddle lamps on all doors, which are missing from the next-generation Seltos. Apart from this, the Seltos comes with smaller 18-inch rims, while the Sierra gets larger 19-inch rims. However, the outside rearview mirror (ORVM) in Kia is synchronized with the memory function of the driver's seat. Whereas in Sierra, memory function is available only for the driver seat.

Both models get a triple-screen setup with a 12.3-inch infotainment system. However, the Sierra gets a 12.3-inch passenger display, while the Seltos, like the Kia Sciros and EV9, gets a 5-inch climate control screen between the infotainment screen and the 12.3-inch driver display. The Sierra's instrumentation panel is slightly smaller, at 10.25-inches. The new Seltos also has a head-up display (HUD), which is available in the Sierra only in its lower trims. Kia gets more adjustment settings for the driver's seat, but it does not have an air purifier and a cooled glove box. Talking about the audio system, the Sierra's system, at least on paper, is better with more speakers.

New Kia Seltos vs Tata Sierra: Which SUV to choose?
The prices of the top-spec variants of the new Kia Seltos and Tata Sierra have not been revealed yet and will play a key role in deciding which midsize SUV is the better option. Although both have a long list of features, the Sierra gets a slight advantage with a passenger display, more speakers, a cooled glove box and an air purifier, which makes it look more attractive. Tata Sierra All Variant Price: Tata Motors announced the prices of Smart +, Pure and Pure + variants of Sierra SUV, prices of higher trims will come soon. Sierra is available in six colors and three engine options. Sierra is one of the biggest launches of this year. The company had announced the price of its entry level variant at the time of launch itself.

New Delhi. Tata Motors had announced the starting prices of its new Sierra SUV on 25 November 2025. The company has now revealed the prices of most of its variants, only the prices of the higher trims – Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished and Accomplished+ have not been revealed yet. The entry-level Smart+ trim, which is available with naturally aspirated petrol and diesel engines, is priced at Rs 11.49 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 12.99 lakh for the diesel variant.

The Pure trim comes with 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5 liter diesel engines, priced between Rs 12.99 lakh and Rs 15.99 lakh. The price of Pure+ variants ranges between Rs 14.49 lakh to Rs 17.49 lakh. All prices quoted are starting ex-showroom. Prices for the higher trims may be announced in the coming weeks.

Color and engine options
Tata Sierra lineup is available in 6 color options – Coorg Cloud, Pristine White, Munnar Mist, Pure Grey, Andaman Adventure and Bengal Rouge. Built on the ARGOS (All-Terrain Ready, Omni-Energy and Geometry Scalable) platform, the SUV comes with three engine options – 106bhp/145Nm 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 160bhp/255Nm 1.5L, 4-cylinder direct injection turbo petrol and 118bhp/260-280Nm 1.5L. Turbo diesel. The company has launched this powerful car with aggressive pricing, due to which a lot of turmoil can be seen in the SUV segment. This car will present a tough challenge to other brands.

Tata Sierra AWD and 7-seater?
If reports are to be believed, Tata Sierra may also get AWD (all-wheel drive) variants and a 7-seater version in future. Tata's new ARGOS architecture supports multiple body styles, powertrains and drivetrains. AWD-equipped Sierra variants may arrive in 2026. The company may also consider CNG or hybrid powertrain options for Sierra. However, no official confirmation has come yet regarding these changes. Since the launch of Tata Sierra, it has created a lot of buzz in the market. In India it will compete with Hyundai Creta. Sierra electric version
The electric version of Sierra has been confirmed to be launched early next year. Apart from this, 7 seater variant and CNG version can also be introduced soon. Additionally, as a tribute to the original Sierra, the new Sierra will also get a four-wheel-drive system within the next two years. The design of the new Sierra is also its big feature.

Styling Elements
Its styling elements are reminiscent of the first generation Sierra, but modern touches have also been retained. Direct Injection Turbocharged Petrol Engine
The 1.5 liter direct injection turbocharged petrol engine produces 160 PS of maximum power and 255 Nm of peak torque. It is available only with a six-speed torque converter automatic unit. Performance based, this powertrain is considered to be the most fuel efficient turbocharged petrol engine in its segment.

1.5 liter diesel engine
The already familiar 1.5 liter diesel engine is also available, which gives 120 PS power and 280 Nm torque in automatic trim. Whereas, NA 1.5 liter petrol engine gives 106 PS power and 145 Nm torque. The diesel engine can be bought with a six-speed manual or a six-speed AT, while the petrol engine comes with a six-speed MT or a seven-speed dual clutch automatic. Official bookings for the new Tata Sierra will begin from December 16 at authorized dealerships across the country and online, while deliveries to customers will begin from mid-January 2026. Its complete price list will also be released this month.
