Tata Sierra EV is ready to make a big entry in the market, know the details

Tata Sierra EV has been spotted testing several times in India. It was recently spotted during road tests in camouflage, which included cold-weather trials and rough terrain evaluations in Leh. This SUV has confirmed its EV identity with a charging flap, no exhaust pipe and independent rear suspension. This new e-SUV built on Acti.EV platform will be positioned between Curve EV and Harrier EV.

In the midsize electric SUV segment, it will compete with rivals like Mahindra BE6 and Hyundai Creta EV. Expected to launch in the second quarter (April-June) of 2026, it may promise retro-modern styling, advanced features and a range of up to 500 km. Estimated price is around ₹15-25 lakh. Design and interior

The design of Tata Sierra EV will be a mix of retro and modern. It will include a boxy SUV silhouette, muscular stance, wraparound rear windows, closed-off grille, slim split-headlamp setup, aero-optimized 19-inch alloy wheels, flush door handles, connected LED lighting, squared-off wheel arches and clean rear with full-width LED tail lamps. It will pay tribute to the original 1990s Sierra and adopt modern EV elements, such as smooth surfaces and muscular bumpers.

The interiors will be minimalistic and airy, with a triple-screen dashboard (12.3-inch infotainment, 12.3-inch passenger entertainment screen and 10.25-inch driver display), panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, wireless charger, premium Harman audio system with Dolby, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 360-degree camera, dual-tone materials and light color palette will be included. The seating options could be a five-seat or four-seat lounge layout, which will provide a spacious and comfortable cabin.

Features and safety

Features will include Level 2 ADAS (Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring), Connected Car Technology, V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) charging, instant torque, hill launch/descent control, good ground clearance and suspension tuning, which will provide better performance on rough terrain.

Safety features will include six or seven airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, hill-hold assist, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), all-round parking sensors, 360-degree camera and Level 2 EDAS as standard, which will ensure a strong rating in Bharat NCAP.

Battery, Motor and Range

Battery options will be 65 kWh and 75 kWh packs. These will be offered with thermal management. The motor setup will be standard front-wheel drive (FWD) or rear-wheel drive (RWD) and optional dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD), which will provide better traction and mild off-road capability. Range could be around 450-500 km.

Acti.ev platform While the new ARGOS (All-Terrain Ready, Omni-Energy and Geometry Scalable Architecture) platform has been given in the ICE variant, the Tata Sierra EV will be based on the Acti.ev platform. Tata's Acti.ev architecture is also given in Punch.ev, Curvv.ev and Harrier.ev. The platform supports multiple drivetrain systems and advanced technologies such as Level 2 ADAS, V2L (Vehicle-to-Load), V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) functionality and 5G connectivity.

65kWh and 75kWh battery packs
Powertrain taken from Harrier EV Tata Motors can use 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs of Harrier EV for Sierra EV. The 65kWh variant of the Harrier EV comes with a RWD (rear-wheel drive) system and gives an ARAI range of 538km on a single charge. The 75kWh battery pack variant is available in both RWD and AWD (QWD) configurations, offering a range of 627km and 622km respectively. It is expected that Sierra EV will give a range of more than 500km on a single charge.

Special changes for EV The original silhouette and design language will remain intact in Tata Sierra EV, but it may get some EV specific cosmetic and software upgrades. Features like closed-off grille, aero-optimized alloy wheels, EV badging, multi-link rear suspension and Arcade.ev app suite can be provided in it. Most of its features will be taken from the ICE variant, like triple screen setup, panoramic sunroof, JBL sound system, wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless phone charger, TPMS, ESC, 360 degree camera, multiple airbags and other features.

The new Tata Sierra will be launched on 25 November 2025 with petrol, diesel and electric options, which will have triple screen, 6 airbags and many advanced features.

The new Tata Sierra has finally made its official debut and its market launch will be on November 25, 2025. The carmaker has confirmed that this SUV will be offered with petrol, diesel and electric powertrain options.

The petrol range will include new 1.5L naturally aspirated and 1.5L TGDi engines, while the diesel models will use a 1.5L motor sourced from the Curvv. The powertrain of the Sierra EV will be shared with the Harrier EV, which is currently available with 55kWh and 65kWh battery pack options.

We now have a clear glimpse of the production-ready interior of the upcoming Sierra SUV. It has a triple screen setup that includes a touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster and a dedicated passenger-side touchscreen. Each unit measures 12.3 inches. The Tata Sierra features a dual-tone cabin theme with a 4-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo at the centre.

Tata has included many advanced features in the Sierra, which include auto dimming IRVM, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, front and rear parking sensors, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting and much more.

In terms of safety, the 2025 Tata Sierra includes 6 airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, tire pressure monitoring system and level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System).

The overall design of the new Tata Sierra is completely different from the original Sierra. It now looks more modern and strong, with new front grille, slim and split headlamp setup, short front and rear overhangs, squarish wheel arches, 19-inch alloy wheels, sharp roofline and much more.

Rivals and Expected Price In the midsize SUV segment, the new Sierra will compete against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyrider.

The entry-level petrol version is expected to be priced around Rs 11 lakh, while the top-end ICE trim could be priced around Rs 20 lakh. The price of Tata Sierra EV can be between Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.

New Delhi. Tata company has officially released the first teaser of its much awaited car Sierra. This car has been creating buzz in the market for a long time. People are eagerly waiting for its launch. Now the company has unveiled its launch date. The company has confirmed that this SUV will hit the market on 25 November 2025. This car will fall in the midsize SUV segment and will be placed between the Curve and Harrier in the company's portfolio. This SUV will be available with both electric (EV) and ICE (petrol/diesel) powertrains, with the ICE version to be launched first. Let us tell you about this car in detail.

Engine and Power
The company's new 1.5 liter turbo GDI engine is likely to be provided in the new Tata Sierra and its maximum power will be 170 PS and it will give a torque of 280 Nm. Talking about the diesel engine variant, it can be given the same 2.0 liter engine of Stellantis with less power tuning or 1.5 liter engine of Curve.

Electric Sierra range and technology
The electric Sierra will probably be built on the same platform on which the Harrier EV is based and if we talk about battery and range, it is expected to come in two battery pack configurations, in which the larger pack will be capable of providing a driving range of more than 500 kilometers. In this, the facility of fast charging and bidirectional charging (powering home appliances from the vehicle battery) will be provided.

Design and interior
The old identity of Sierra has been retained in the design, but has been updated according to the new times. The signature signature wraparound rear glass panel can be found in Sierra, which has been given a sleek and aerodynamic design. The square wheel arches, a prominent LED light bar at the rear and the new split headlamp design at the front give it a powerful look.

Triple screen setup i.e. three displays have been provided in the cabin. One for the driver, one for the infotainment system and one for the front passenger. Along with this, the vehicle is likely to get premium features like panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone charger, ventilated front seats and a Harmon audio setup along with premium materials, dual-tone interior theme and ambient lighting.
