Tata sold 22,573 units of Nexon SUV in September 2025. In contrast, Hyundai sold 18,861 units of Creta, while Mahindra's Scorpio sold 18,372 units that month. Although this was the best monthly sales for the three, Nexon caught the most attention, which was 37.83 percent of Tata's total September PV sales.

Nexon's demand increased recently due to the price cut in GST 2.0, causing a decrease in the ex-showroom price of the sub-compact SUV by ₹ 1.55 lakh. The automeker also gave an additional discount of ₹ 45,000 during the festivals. Under GST 2.0, the sub-4 meter SUV now falls in 18 percent slab, earlier 28 percent and additional 1-3 percent compensation cess.

The first generation Nexon was the first Indian car to get a 5-star security rating in the Global New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) Crash Test. It is available in four major trims starting from ₹ 7.32 lakh (Post-GST ex-showroom), which has petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.2-liter turbo-petrol unit forms 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-liter diesel engine generates 113 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. Mileage ranges from 17.01 km per liter to 24.08 km per liter.

In terms of security, Nexon includes 6 airbags, ESPs with ABS, and front parking sensors with 360-degree surround view camera. Apart from this, blind-spot monitor, reverse parking camera, and rain-sensing wipers with auto headlamps and front fog lamps are also included. The car has Isofix mounts and also gets i-size child seat as part of accessories.
