Mahindra Scorpio

Mahindra Scorpio is at second place in the list. This popular SUV was purchased by 15,885 people last month. This figure indicates an impressive growth of 30 percent on an annual basis compared to the total 12,195 units sold in December 2024.

Mahindra Bolero

Mahindra's powerful SUV is also at number three. A total of 10,611 new units were sold last month. This figure represents an impressive growth of 79 percent year-on-year against the total 5,921 units sold in December 2024.

Toyota Innova

Toyota Innova is at number four in the list. This popular 7-seater MPV has received a total of 9900 new customers in December 2025. This figure represents a slight increase of 2 percent on an annual basis compared to the total 9,700 units sold in December 2024.

Kia Cars

Due to increase in sales, Kia Carens has registered its name in the list of top-5 seven seater vehicles of last month. Last month 3,681 people bought it. This figure represents an annual increase of 40 percent compared to the total 2,626 units sold in December 2024.

Apart from the top-5 cars of the segment mentioned above, last month 2961 units of Toyota Fortuner, 2744 units of Maruti Suzuki XL6, 2324 units of Renault Triber, 1446 units of Tata Safari and only 971 units of Mahindra XUV 7X0 were sold. Toyota Innova has completed 20 years in India. Innova, launched in 2005, has been produced by more than 12 lakh units. The Innova Hycross was introduced in 2022, which is based on Monokok Chesis.

New Delhi. Toyota Innova has just completed 20 years. This premium MPV was launched in India two decades ago and is still in the MPV segment. Innova has made a domestic name keeping in mind the main philosophy of Toyota's quality, stability and reliability (QDR). Since its own in the Indian market in 2005, Toyota has produced more than 1.2 million units of Innova. Innova's first-gene model was based on body-on-frame architecture, commonly known for SUVs. The second-Jen model introduced in 2016, named Innova Crysta.

Innova Hycross
In 2022, Toyota made a major change when it turned to the front-wheel drive innova from the rear-wheel drive, ladder-on-frame chassis Innova, based on Monocok Chesis. The new Innova was given a new name Hi Cross and it carries forward the legacy of the Innova brand.

Dhansu Engine and Mileage

The Innova Crysta is powered with a 2.4-liter diesel engine that generates a peak torque of 148 bhp and 343 Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This powertrain offers a mileage of about 14 to 14.5 km per liter.

2.0-liter petrol engine
On the other hand, the Innova Hycross has a 2.0-liter petrol engine, paired with a self-beach hybrid electric system, which gives an 184 bhp joint output. Toyota claims that this hybrid powertrain has a mileage of 23.4 km per liter.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Indian arm of the Japanese carmaker, has added the GX (O) variant to its Innova Hycross lineup. The eight-seater variant is priced at 20.99 lakhs, while the seven-seater variant is priced at 21.13 lakhs. Bookings for the new variant are now open, with deliveries set to commence from April 15, 2024.

The GX (O) variant offers several upgrades over the GX trim, including a larger 10.1-inch infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, front parking sensors, a 360-degree surround camera, rear sunshade, rear defogger, dual-tone interior with a soft-touch dashboard, and LED fog lamps.

Inside, the variant gets dark chestnut quilted leather seats, soft-touch leather, and metallic decorations. Exterior features include 16-inch alloy wheels, a roof-end spoiler with LED stop lamp, and ORVMs with auto fold, electric adjust, and turn indicators.

In terms of safety, the GX (O) variant is equipped with an electric parking brake with auto-hold, all-wheel disc brakes, six SRS airbags, and ISOFIX anchors.

Sabari Manohar – Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, stated that the new variant with top-class performance along with 10 features is aimed to cater the customers seeking a fully loaded petrol version to meet their evolving lifestyle needs.

The Toyota Innova HyCross GX (O) is powered by a 2.0 L TNGA Gasoline Engine, producing 172 bhp and 205 Nm of torque. It comes with a Direct Shift CVT with a launch gear mechanism and a 10-speed sequential shift, offering a fuel economy of 16.13 kmpl.

Launched in November 2022, Toyota claims that it has sold over 50,000 units of the Innova HyCross till date. Recently, the company reopned the bookings for the top spec strong hybrid models, ZX and ZX(O).

The official website of the Japanese auto giant shows that the top variant is now up for booking at a price of 30.98 lakh (ex-showroom). Price of all other variants have also been hiked after Toyota announced increase of prices by about one per cent from April 2024 onwards.
