Production of Volkswagen's flagship SUV will end in 2026, marking the end of a major chapter in the brand's history.
To celebrate this milestone, Volkswagen has announced the Touareg Final Edition, a special farewell model that can be ordered till March 2026, with prices starting at EUR 75,025 (approximately Rs 76 lakh).
This Final Edition isn't just a trim package, it's a tribute to a car that changed Volkswagen's fortunes.
When the first Touareg model was launched in 2002, it was not just an SUV. This was Volkswagen's first serious step into the premium world.
Its second model was launched in 2010. As Volkswagen's first luxury-class SUV, it became a global icon of German engineering.
In the year 2018, the company once again upgraded it with the third generation model. Which has now proved to be its last upgrade.
In 2006, it famously pulled a Boeing 747 – 155 tons – onto the runway. More than 4,83,000 units of the second generation Touareg were sold worldwide.
