New Delhi. Xiaomi launched its second electric vehicle, Yu7, and this SUV created history in China on 26 June 2025. Within just three minutes of launch, this all-electric SUV obtained more than 2,00,000 orders, which increased rapidly to about 2.9 lakh units in the first hour. Tesla stands firmly against Model Y, Yu7 shows Xiaomi's mid-size electric SUV in space.

Awesome look
Putting the styling elements of the design SU7 sedan, the YU7 adopts a sleek follicle -like profile with a wide front grille, aggressive air intex and sloping roofline. Its muscular stance, connected LED light bars and aerodynamic proposals give it sporty and premium appeal. Xiaomi has given preference to practicality, which includes a large boot and flush-fitting door handles.

Interior and features
Inside, the cabin has a 1.1 meter wide hypervision heads-up display and 16.1 inch central touchscreen, which is powered with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The YU7 running on Xiaomi's Hyperos promises Easy Integration with smartphones and smart home devices. The features include ambient lighting, premium upholstery, rear seat projector, magnetic accessories and multi-zone climate control system. Features such as customized shortcut keys and smart storage solutions improve the over all experience of the owner.

Yu7 available in three variants
Standard (RWD), Pro (AWD), and Max (AWD). Battery options include BYD's 96.3KWH LFP pack and 101kwh NMC of CATL, which ranges between the claimed CLTC range 760km to 835km. Standard Rwd: 0-100kmph 5.9 seconds, 835km range pro awd: 0-100kmph 4.3 seconds, 770km range Max AWD: 0-100Kmph 3.2 seconds, 253kmph top speed SUV 800V 800V architecture which runs on 10-80 percent in 12 minutes. Enables, or charges up to a range of 620km in 15 minutes.

price
Xiaomi has priced YU7 priced RMB 253,500 (about Rs. 29.2 lakh), which is much cheaper than Tesla Model Y in China. Delivery began in July 2025, and Xiaomi has achieved 30,000 units of delivery mile stone in the first month itself.

People can guess the craze of people for this car from the fact that in just 72 hours, lock-in orders were received for more than 3 lakh units of it. This model reached 62 weeks for delivery.

Bookings started on 26 June
Xiaomi Yu7 crossover entered the Chinese market on 26 June. This model achieved a great success by obtaining 240,000 lock-in order in 18 hours. According to Carfans, three days after the launch, this number reached 280,800 – 315,900 orders. By July 6, the waiting period of the delivery of Xiaomi Yu7 is in the range of 45 – 62 weeks.

Delivery of the first batch

The acceleration time of this variant is 5.88 seconds. Xiaomi Yu7 offers 365 kW (489 HP) for two motors with pro AWD. Thanks to the 96.2 kwh battery, this EV can run up to 770 km on the charge once.
