Tata Safari Petrol, introduced at the 2023 Auto Expo, now launched with 1.5-litre TGDi engine, 14.5-inch Samsung NEO QLED display and many exclusive features, price to be announced in January 2026.
New Delhi. Auto lovers were eagerly waiting for Tata's new petrol engine, 1.5-litre TGDI, which was introduced for the first time at the 2023 Auto Expo. The company has launched it with Safari only after rigorous testing. And like always, Tata has also added some new features in it. So let us know about the latest features available in Safari Patrol and some such features, which are available only in Safari Patrol in this segment. Tata Safari has always been known for its great features. And now with the new petrol engine its value for money factor has increased even further. So let us know some such features of Safari Patrol, which are not yet found in its competitors –
- 14.5-inch touchscreen system by Samsung NEO QLED – the largest and clearest display in the segment.
- Camera Washer (Front and Rear) – This feature is usually found in luxury and off-roading cars.
- Digital IRVM – The feed from the camera mounted on the shark fin antenna is visible on the IRVM, giving a clear rear view – this feature was first introduced in the Land Rover Defender.
- Auto Reverse Dip ORVMs – As soon as you put the SUV in reverse gear, the ORVMs dip down, making it easier to spot obstacles while parking.
- ARCADE App Suite – You can enjoy selected OTT platforms on this display.
- Panoramic sunroof with mood lighting
- Welcome and goodbye animation on front and rear DRL – which makes you feel special.
- 19-inch alloy wheels – the largest in the segment, further enhancing the Safari's road presence.
- Apart from these features, Safari also gets 10-speaker JBL sound system, powered boss mode, front and rear (6-seater) ventilated seats, level 2+ ADAS, 360-degree camera, dual-zone automatic climate control and much more.

Now let us know about the new engine in Safari. Along with the diesel engine, now the Safari will also get a new 1.5-litre TGDi engine (168bhp and 280Nm). This engine comes with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. How is the Safari Patrol driving? In one word – relaxing. The power delivery of the engine may be linear, but it picks up speed quickly. Its refinement is also quite good. However, at high acceleration the engine is a bit noisy and slight vibration is also felt.
But is it just the new engine that makes the Safari special?
It's not like that. Safari has been a great SUV even with diesel engine. The biggest reason for this is the OMEGA architecture – which is taken from the Land Rover D8 platform. This platform gives Safari a smooth and relaxed driving experience.
Tata Safari Petrol Features – Launch and Price
Tata Motors has not yet disclosed the price of Safari petrol. It is expected that its price will be announced in January 2026. It is believed that Tata Motors can launch it at a very attractive price.
