Interior
The model Y has Tesla's signature minimalist interior, with a 15.4 -inch central touchscreen and an 8 -inch rear display. This includes heated and ventilated front seats, power folding and heated rear seats, ambient lighting, panoramic glass roof and 9-speaker audio system. Facilities like Dog Mode, Tesla Arcade and Centre Mode have also come to India for the first time.
Tesla has introduced two variants of model Y in India: Long Range Rear-Sheel Drive (RWD) and Long Range All-wheel drive (AWD). The RWD variant gives a range of 574 km (EPA) and can catch a speed of 0 to 100 kmph in 5.4 seconds. The long range AWD model, which has dual motors, offers a range of 527 km and can catch a speed of 0 to 100 kmph in 4.6 seconds. The top speed of both variants is 201 km per hour.
Planning of supercharger station
Tesla has confirmed the installation of supercharger stations in major cities like Mumbai and Delhi. At the launch of model Y, Tesla reported that this electric crossover supports the range of 238 km (standard range) in 15 minutes and 267 km in 15 minutes (long range) in 15 minutes, which shows its rapid charging capacity.
The surprising thing is that Tesla is also offering its famous full self-driving (FSD) with the India-Spak Model Y. This feature is available as an optional accessory with a premium of Rs 6 lakh. Although the FSD is not yet fully capable due to India's infrastructure, the car includes autopylot features such as autopark, smart summons, traffic lights and stop sign controls, which will continue to get OTA software updates in the future.
Double price from america
The price of model Y in India is almost double the US price of about $ 37,490, due to heavy import duty (~ 70%) and luxury tax (~ 30%). For this reason, its price has reached Rs 59.89 lakh and 67.80 lakh rupees (both ex-showrooms). Because of this, Natisons have named it “Tax-La” on the Internet. Tesla will compete with luxury car brands like BMW, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz.
