This hatchback has been making waves in the market for 24 years, 50 lakh units sold so far, a boon for the middle class

New Delhi. Maruti Suzuki India's Alto is the best-selling car in the country. More than 50 lakh units have been sold since 2000. Even after so many years, more than 10,000 customers are buying it every month. It is one of the most affordable cars in the country, with a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 3.99 lakh. Alto's entry in the Indian market After the partnership of Maruti and Suzuki in 1982, it was first launched on September 27, 2000.

The Alto K10 car is based on the company's updated Heartect platform. This hatchback has a new-gen K-series 1.0L dual jet, dual VVT engine, which produces 49kW (66.62PS) @5500rpm of power and 89Nm @3500rpm of torque. The company claims that its automatic variant gives a mileage of 24.90 km/l and the manual variant gives a mileage of 24.39 km/l. At the same time, the mileage of the CNG variant is 33.85 kmpl.

These features of Alto are very special
Alto K10 has a 7-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, which has already been given in S-Preso, Celerio and Wagon-R. This infotainment system supports Apple Car Play, Android Auto as well as USB, Bluetooth and AUX cable. Also, a new design of steering wheel and steering mounted infotainment controls have also been provided.

In terms of safety, this hatchback has been provided with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), reverse parking sensor, and pre-tensioner and force limit front seat belts. Apart from this, it also has speed sensing auto door lock, high speed alert and many other safety features.
