Skoda Auto India has recalled 221 units of its flagship SUV Kodiaq in India. This recall has been taken due to a defect found in the inner frame of the front seats, which can affect the safety of the side airbags. The recall has been announced on the website of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). The affected models were manufactured between March 10, 2025 and December 8, 2025.
There is a defect in the edge of the inner frame of the front seats, which may reduce the proper deployment of the side airbag or its safety in the event of an accident. This may increase the risk of injury to passengers. Skoda says that this is a potential safety issue, so the company has announced a voluntary recall.
Price and features of Skoda Kodiaq
Kodiaq is a premium 7-seater SUV, which is known for safety features like multiple airbags, ADAS and strong body structure. The new gen Skoda Kodiaq was launched in India about a year ago. Its starting price was around Rs 46.89 lakh (ex-showroom), which now starts from Rs 39.99 lakh.

The company will repair for free
The recall is limited to only 221 units, which is a very small part of the total production. Skoda Auto India has started the process of contacting affected car owners. The company will carry out free inspection and necessary repairs or replacement. Owners have been advised to check the chassis number (VIN) of their vehicle or contact the nearest Skoda dealership. If their vehicle is affected, they should book service immediately.
The company says that Kodiak owners need not panic. The company is providing free service, which will not incur any extra expense. If your Kodiaq is made in 2025, contact the dealer immediately. Skoda has shared information in a transparent manner to maintain customer satisfaction.
