The first teaser of 2026 VW Taigun facelift has been released. The company has confirmed its launch on 9 April 2026. This is the first major update of the midsize SUV, which will make the Taigun, launched in 2021, more modern. The teaser shows a new front design, which reflects VW's global styling.
The facelift will show the biggest change at the front of the Taigun. It will get slimmer LED headlamps, connecting LED elements, new sleek grille and illuminated VW logo in the middle. The bumpers will be redesigned, which will give a sporty and elegant look. New LED taillights and refreshed bumpers are also possible at the rear. The overall road presence will be strong and modern. There will be no major changes in the engine. The 1.0-litre 3-cylinder TSI (115 PS, 178 Nm) and 1.5-litre 4-cylinder TSI (150 PS, 250 Nm) engines will continue. The 1.0 liter turbo engine will get a new 8-speed torque converter automatic (earlier 6-speed), which will give smooth shifts and better efficiency. The 1.5 liter turbo engine will have 7-speed DSG. Manual gearbox will also be available. Slight improvement in mileage is possible.
Expected Price
The price of the facelift model is expected to be between Rs 12 lakh to Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom). There may be a slight increase from the current model. In the Indian market, it will compete with vehicles like Skoda Kushaq Facelift, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos. Overall, the 2026 Taigun facelift will come with strong updates in style, tech and refinement.
