This electric SUV with 456 KM range is getting a discount of ₹ 4 lakh

Mahindra is known for its SUVs in the Indian car market. The company is strengthening its EV portfolio with time and is trying to take the vehicles to more and more customers. Design and dimensions

The XUV 400 EL Pro has a bold and modern design, which is the bigger electric incarnation of the XUV300. With a length of 4200 mm and width of 1821 mm, it makes a strong presence in the compact SUV segment. The front looks attractive with projector headlamps with LED DRLs, front fog lamps and a grille with chrome/satin inserts. In the side profile, R16 diamond cut alloy wheels, roof rails and shark fin antenna give a sporty look. LED taillamps and spoiler at the rear make it dynamic. Due to the availability of dual tone colors, it gives a premium feel. The overall design is of aggressive SUV style, which suits both city and highway.

Cabin and Comfort

The interior is quite updated and premium. The cabin is spacious, the 5-seater with 60:40 split rear seats ensures a comfortable journey. Leather seats, leather steering wheel and copper stitching add a luxury touch. The 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system and 10.25 inch digital cluster give a modern look. Features like dual zone climate control, rear AC vents, wireless charger, cruise control and height adjustable driver seat increase comfort. Sunroof (electric with anti-pinch), auto dimming IRVM, rain sensing wipers and illuminated sunvisor give a premium feel. The boot space is 368 litres, which is enough for family use. Steering mounted controls, keyless entry, push button start, reverse camera with guidelines and smartwatch connectivity make daily use easy. Drive modes (Fun, Fast, Fearless) allow customization of performance.

Safety features include 6 airbags (driver, passenger, side and curtain), ESP (Electronic Stability Program), TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring), all disc brakes and ISOFIX child anchors. Battery, Motor and Range

XUV 400 EL Pro comes with two battery options – 34.5 kWh and 39.4 kWh. Both have a single permanent magnet synchronous motor, which generates 147.5 bhp power and 310 Nm torque. 0-100 kmph acceleration happens in around 8.3 to 9 seconds, top speed is around 150 kmph.

The variant with 34.5 kWh battery offers an ARAI range of up to 375 km, while the 39.4 kWh battery offers a range of 456 km. In real world, 250-350 KM is easily available in city and highway mix. A full charge from the 7.2 kW AC charger takes 6-7 hours, while the DC fast charging support provides fast top-up. The motor is smooth and responsive, which adds to the fun of driving an EV. L mode and region braking extend battery life.
