New Delhi. Kia India has launched its luxury electric SUV Kia EV9 in the Indian market. Kia EV9 was first showcased by the company at the Auto Expo held last year. Kia India has launched its new electric SUV Kia EV9 in a feature-packed GT-Line trim.
Its starting price has been kept at Rs 1.3 crore (ex-showroom). This vehicle has been brought to India under Complete Built Unit (CBU), due to which its price is slightly higher.
Design and size
Talking about the design of Kia EV9, it has high-tech digital-pattern lighting with attractive L-shaped DRLs, vertically stacked LED headlamps, and closed-off grille. Its rear includes vertical LED tail-lamps, dual-tone bumper, and spoiler. Its size is also quite large, its length is 5,015 mm, width is 1,980 mm, height is 1,780 mm, and wheelbase is 3,100 mm.
Features and Comfort
Kia EV9 has been launched as a 6-seater SUV, with captain seats in the second row. It has a dual-screen display, which includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. Inside the vehicle, it has a 4-spoke steering wheel, physical controls, and dual-tone brown and black interior, which gives it a premium look.
Power and Performance
Kia EV9 has a battery capacity of 99.8kWh, which is connected to dual electric motors. These motors together generate 384hp power and 700Nm torque. This SUV offers a range of 561 km on a single charge, making it capable of covering long distances like Delhi to Lucknow.
Talking about its powerful performance, Kia EV9 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. Additionally, its battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes with a 350kW DC fast charger.
Advanced features and safety of Kia EV9
Kia EV9 is packed with advanced features. It has been provided with premium features like electric adjustment, massage function, and adjustable leg support. Apart from this, features like three-zone climate control, dual-electric sunroof, head-up display, and 14-speaker Meridian audio system are also included in it.
In terms of safety, this SUV is equipped with 10 airbags, ESC, hill descent control, and 360-degree camera. Apart from this, it also has Level-2 Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS), which includes technologies like Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
This new electric SUV from Kia not only gives excellent performance, but it is also very powerful in terms of advanced features and safety. Even though its price is high, but considering the technology and features provided in it, it can establish itself firmly in the premium segment.
