New Delhi. Just a few days after the bookings started, Skoda Auto India's upcoming Octavia RS has received an overwhelming response and all 100 units available in the Indian market have already been booked. The performance sedan, which returns in its most powerful avatar yet, will come in completely built unit (CBU) form and is expected to be priced between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom). The official launch is scheduled for October 17, and deliveries will begin from November 6.

Powertrain and performance

The new Octavia RS is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that produces 261bhp (195kW) and 370Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Power is sent to the front wheels, allowing the sedan to accelerate from 0-100kmph in just 6.4 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 250kmph. To improve the driving dynamics, Skoda has equipped the RS with progressive steering, sports suspension and sports exhaust to make the performance note even more exciting.

600-litre boot
The Octavia RS offers a 600-litre boot (expandable to 1,555 litres) and a 50-litre fuel tank. It measures 4,709mm in length, 1,829mm in width, and 1,457mm in height, and rides on a wheelbase of 2,677mm.
