New Delhi. Toyota Hilux, which is known for its reliability and is ranked among the most successful pick-up trucks worldwide. Now this pick-up truck has once again proved its strength, this time in terms of safety. The 2025 Hilux has achieved a full five-star safety rating in the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP). Currently, there are many safe vehicles in Toyota's portfolio.

Got good score in ANCAP
ANCAP's assessment of the Hilux included a series of tests aimed at assessing the performance of crash safety and active protection systems. In adult occupant protection, Hilux scored 33.96 points out of 40, which is equivalent to 84 percent rating. This included tests such as frontal offset (MPDB), oblique pole, rescue and extraction, full-width frontal, whiplash protection, side impact and far side impact, which appreciated the truck's strong body structure and effective restraint systems.

Child Occupant Protection
Hilux performed brilliantly in child occupant protection, scoring 44 out of 49, i.e. 89 percent score. In this category, aspects like dynamic front and side impact performance, restraint installation and on-board child safety features were assessed. It is clear from the results that Toyota has paid special attention to the seat design and strength of ISOFIX anchors for the safety of small passengers.

Worthable Road User Protection Score
In the vulnerable road user protection category, Hilux scored 52.16 out of 63, i.e. 82 percent score. In this, the safety of the head, legs and pelvis of the pedestrian and cyclist as well as the effect of the autonomous emergency braking system (AEB) of the truck were examined. Toyota's advanced sensors and detection algorithms played a key role in achieving these scores.

Driver-Assist Technology
Finally, under Safety Assist, which measures driver-assist technology, the Hilux recorded a score of 14.83 out of 18, or 82 percent. ANCAP assessed features like seatbelt reminder, lane support system, speed assistance, driver monitoring and forward, junction and head-on AEB. All these systems add an essential preventive layer to strengthen the passive safety of the vehicle.
