In the subcompact SUV segment, the new 2026 Maruti Brezza facelift will compete with Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger. Level 2 ADAS
According to reports, the new Maruti Brezza 2026 may get Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driving Assistance System) safety suite, as most of its rivals are already offering this feature.   • Delhi is set to bring out a new EV policy in the next financial year, which will focus on subsidies, charging expansion and incentives for scrapping old petrol and diesel vehicles.

The upcoming policy focuses on fiscal incentives, rapid expansion of charging infrastructure and encouraging removal of older, high-emission vehicles from the roads.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday said the Delhi government is preparing to introduce a new electric vehicle (EV) policy, the implementation of which is expected from the next financial year.

The Chief Minister said the policy framework has been completed and is designed to address rising pollution levels while strengthening the capital's transport system. He pointed out that vehicular emissions account for a significant portion of PM2.5 and PM10 pollution in Delhi, and the shift to electric mobility could help reduce this impact.

Incentives, infrastructure and exit plan for old vehicles

The upcoming policy focuses on fiscal incentives, rapid expansion of charging infrastructure and encouraging removal of older, high-emission vehicles from the roads. Gupta said the subsidy will be used to reduce the cost gap between internal combustion engine vehicles and EVs. He also said that Delhi has already removed road tax and registration charges on EV purchases.

As part of the policy, the government plans to introduce additional incentives for vehicle scrappage. Owners who scrap old petrol or diesel vehicles will be eligible for financial benefits when purchasing electric vehicles, with an aim to accelerate the phasing out of polluting vehicles.

How the government plans to implement the changes

Gupta said automakers have been asked to align production and supply with demand and maintain reasonable pricing. The government is also consulting power distribution companies, vehicle manufacturers and authorized scrap dealers. Once finalized, the draft policy will be released for public consultation to gather feedback from residents.

On charging infrastructure, the Chief Minister said the plan includes installing public chargers not only at prime locations but also close to residential areas. Provisions for battery exchange and proper disposal of used batteries are also part of the framework. He said that consumers will be given enough time to transition to electric vehicles.

The upcoming Scorpio will be based on NU_IQ platform. Although it has been seen testing several times, the new compact Scorpio is expected to be launched only in late 2026 or early 2027. Meanwhile, the current Scorpio N will also get a mid-life update in the next few months, which will bring minor cosmetic changes and has already been spotted road testing.

The jury was required to distribute its marks among at least five contending vehicles, to ensure fairness, transparency and reduce the possibility of personal bias.

Launched under ICOTY, the Green Car Awards aim to recognize vehicles that show significant progress in sustainability, whether in the form of electric powertrains, hybrid technology, alternative fuels or exceptional improvements in mileage and emissions. Like the main ICOTY Awards, vehicles are evaluated on a number of parameters, such as price, energy efficiency, design, comfort, safety, performance, practicality, technological innovation, value for money and utility for Indian driving conditions.

Nissan is set to showcase new cars, technology, and more at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, and the Japanese carmaker has already offered us a look at what to expect. Among the listings, Nissan has included a teaser image of the new Nismo concept model that is set to make its global debut at the Expo. This comes just after the company plans to expand the Nismo lineup by doubling its global lineup.

The new teaser image brings only a brief glimpse of the rear of the car, which is mostly hidden in shadow. The shape is open to interpretation, as it's hard to tell whether it's a sports car or a coupe-SUV. The car has attractive LED taillamps installed below the lip spoiler, which are seen extending over the tailgate. Its fenders are flared up for a wide stance, with vertical air tunnels integrated into the design. The concept's rear window appears to slope sharply downwards, hinting towards a hatchback format.

Nissan Nismo Concept: Gas-guzzler or performance EV?

Nissan has kept mum on powertrain details for the Nismo concept, and the teaser image doesn't show anything to suggest whether it runs on electric or is powered by a combustion engine, or even a hybrid. The company previously confirmed that it will enter the Nismo prototype in motorsports from 2026, and this could be an early teaser for that race car. If so, the plan hinges on refining the model down the track and eventually producing a production version for us humans.

What to expect from Nissan at the Tokyo Auto Salon?

Nissan X-Trail
Among its showcases, Nissan will showcase a heavily modified version of the X-Trail SUV at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026.

Nissan is bringing a range of products on display at the Makuhari Messe, including an updated version of the Fairlady Z sports coupe, which will be launched in 2026. The version to be showcased in Tokyo will be the Nismo version with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The carmaker will also have the new Leaf in its premium Autec avatar as well as a heavily modified X-Trail Rock Creek multibed wildland SUV.

The Tokyo Auto Salon will take place from January 9 to 11, 2026, with the Nismo concept expected to be unveiled on the first day.

The 75kWh battery pack variant is available in both RWD and AWD (QWD) configurations, offering a range of 627km and 622km respectively. It is expected that Sierra EV will give a range of more than 500km on a single charge.

A naturally aspirated variant is also available, which produces 106 hp and 145 Nm of torque, and runs on the Atkinson cycle for better efficiency. It can be bought with 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The diesel variant will get Tata's well-known 1.5-litre engine, which produces 118 HP power, and will have the option of 6-speed manual (260 Nm) or 6-speed automatic (280 Nm) transmission.

New Delhi. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has raided the house of a YouTuber in Uttar Pradesh, where several expensive cars have been found. Social media content creator Anurag Dwivedi is accused of earning huge amount from online betting and gambling apps. The focus of the investigation is on illegal earnings related to money transactions and gambling networks. According to the NDTV report, a major part of Dwivedi's income came from Sky Exchange and other gambling apps. These apps allow users to place bets online, which is illegal in India. Officials said that the earnings from these apps were laundered in different ways and then used to buy luxury cars and other expensive items.

The models found in the YouTuber's garage include a Lamborghini Urus SE, BMW Z4 and a Mercedes-Benz sedan, which appears to be an E-Class based on the pictures. The second most expensive car in the list is BMW Z4. It is currently sold in India at a starting price of Rs 87.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This convertible car draws power from a 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six cylinder engine, which produces 340 hp of power and 500 Nm of peak torque. Its power goes to the rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission.

What is the allegation?
The Enforcement Directorate took action under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Dwivedi had tried to hide the properties purchased with illegal money and make them appear legitimate. ED searched his Unnao house and recovered all these properties. Dwivedi runs a YouTube channel, where he promotes betting and gambling apps. Due to this, a large number of people registered on these apps, due to which the scope of illegal activities increased further, says ED.
