New Delhi. In the coming years, the Indian auto industry will see a major change towards hybrid technology, in which companies like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, Kia and Reno are already working on their future hybrid vehicles. Many hybrid SUVs are in the launch pipeline, and they will not be limited to only 5-seater models, but many 7-seater family vehicles are also coming. Here we take a look at the upcoming 7-seater SUVs of Hyundai, Kiya, Honda and Reno.

Hyundai ni1i
Kodename NI1I, the upcoming Hyundai 7-seater SUV will be located between Alkazar and Tuxon in the company's product lineup. It can be one of the first hybrid models of South Korean Autometers in India. Hyundai is likely to electrify its proven 1.5L Natural Aspirated Petrol Engine. The production of SUVs is expected to start in the company's Talegaon manufacturing facility by 2027.

Kia mq4i

Like its sister brand, Kia India will introduce a 7-seater hybrid SUV in the next few years. Internal Kodename MQ4i, it will compete with SUV Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, MG Hectare Plus and other upcoming Hybrid three-Ro SUVs. The MQ4i will be based on Soranto, which is available globally with a 1.6L turbo petrol hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain. For India, carmaker Hyundai NI1I is likely to use a 1.5L petrol-hybrid powertrain.

7 seater of Honda
Located above the Honda 7-seater SUV elevate, the upcoming Honda 7-seater SUV will launch the all-new PF2 platform of the brand. According to reports, it can be introduced with a 1.5L natural aspirated petrol engine and a strong hybrid powertrain. The hybrid setup can be taken from the city sedan. The new Honda 7-seater SUV will be designed and developed with inputs from R&D centers in Honda, Japan and Thailand.

Reno Borel
Reno Borel has recently made his global debut and its launch in India is expected in the end of 2026 or in the first half of 2027. It is originally a three-day variant of the third generation Duster SUV. Both models will share platforms, powertrains, features and design elements. At the global level, the boral will be provided with 108bhp petrol engine, 51bhp electric motor, 1.4kwh battery pack and a starter generator. This setup offers about 155bhp joint power.

New Delhi. Tata Motors has launched the new 9-seater Tata Winger Plus for Rs 20.60 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The company says that it is a premium passenger mobility offering, designed for staff transportation and increasing travel and tourism segment. Winger Plus offers more comfort and connected journey experience to passengers.

Cabin and features
Winger Plus includes segment-leading features such as reclining captain seats, adjustable arms, personal USB charging points, individual AC vents and adequate leg spaces. Wide cabin and large luggage compartment further enhances comfort in long trips. Built on Monococcu Chesis, this vehicle offers strong safety and stability, while its car -like ride and handling reduces ease of driving and fatigue for drivers.

Engine specification

The new Winger Plus is powered by a 2.2L Dicor diesel engine, which gives 100HP power and 200Nm torque. This premium van is also equipped with the fleet edge connected vehicle platform of Tata Motors, which enables better business management through real-time vehicle tracking, diagnostics and fleet optimization.

While introducing the new Winger Plus, Anand S, Vice President and Head-Commercial Passenger Vehicle Business, Tata Motors said, “Winger Plus has been engineered to provide a premium experience for passengers and attractive offers for fleet operators. New Delhi. Maruti Suzuki has released the first teaser of its upcoming new midsize SUV, which is scheduled to be launched on September 3, 2025. The teaser features LED tail lamps with sharp designs, including a three-dimensional lighting effect, which includes central brake lamps and turn indicators. This new Maruti SUV will be sold especially through the Arena dealership network and will compete with Hyundai Creta, Kiya Celtose and other models.

Competition and positioning
The official name and details of Maruti SUV will be revealed at the time of launch. However, it is still known as Maruti Escudo. In the company's product portfolio, the new Arena will find the gap between SUV Brezza and Grand Vitara. Given its positioning, this new model is expected to be larger than Brezza and cheaper than Grand Vitara.

Level-2 ADAS, Dolby Atmos

According to media reports, the new Maruti will be the first model of the SUV brand with Level-2 ADAS (Autonomous Driver Assistance System) and Dolby Atmos audio system. Unlike Grand Vitara, it will be available with AWD (all-wheel drive) option and will also have powered tailgate. Other expected features include a 9-inch infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Wireless Phone Charger, Automatic AC, Ambient Lighting, and many airbags.

Petrol, Hybrid and CNG Power
The new Maruti Arena is likely to be based on the Global C platform of SUV Grand Vitara and its Paurtrain will share with its Nexa Sibling. This means that it will be available with 103 bhp, 1.5 L mild hybrid, 116 bhp, 1.5 L Atkinson Cycle Strong Hybrid and 88 Bhp, 1.5 L CNG engine options. If media reports are to be believed, the new Maruti SUV (Maruti Escudo) will be the company's first CNG vehicle with an underbody CNG tank.

Price (potential)
However, official prices will be announced in a few days, the new Maruti Arena SUV is expected to be priced at about Rs 10-10.50 lakh for entry-level variants and up to Rs 18-19 lakh for top-end hybrid variants.

Mahindra XUV700 facelift
The updated exterior was seen in previous test mules, the latest spy shots shown a fully Camophled prototype. The upcoming XUV700 will have LED headlamp clusters redesigned with new day time running lights (DRLs), which will replace the current round headlights with sharp rectangular units.

New alloy wheels

The grill is updated on a large scale with additional slats, while the bottom of the bumper now includes a sleaker air dam. The rear of the SUV features shark-fin antenna, rear spiler, rear washer and viper, and redeezing bumper. In addition to these changes, the overall design remains a large extent with the current model. Most importantly, a new set alloy wheels are also shown in the latest spy images.

16-Spicker Hermon Cardon Audio System
A major feature upgrade will be the new 16-speaker Harmon Cardon Audio System with a Dolby Atmos, borrowed from its battery -ward cybbing. Another update is the steering wheel, in which the Mahindra Twin is expected to light up with the twin pix logo, while the control button will probably remain the same as before.

Mahindra XUV700 facelift
Paurtrain updated XUV700 does not expect mechanical changes and it will continue with the existing powertrain-2.0-liter MStallion turbo-petrol and 2.2-liter mhawk diesel. Both engines will be available with 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox, while the top-speed diesel automatic variant will be the al-wheel-drive option as before.

New Delhi. BMW has launched an updated version of X5 in India, which is an initial price of Rs 1.0 crore (ex-showroom). The prices of all four variants of X5 have been increased by Rs 2.5 lakh. This luxury SUV now comes with exterior and interior updates with new M Sport Pro package. 2025 BMW X5 is introduced as CKD product in India, which is assembled in the company's Chennai plant.

2025 BMW X5: Design
The overall design of BMW X5 is the same as before, only with a few small changes that give it a fresh look. For example, the Signature Kidney Grill has been enlarged and it has been paired with adaptive matrix LED headlamps including L-shape's LED DRLs. The Bavarian car manufacturer has also added new 21-inch alloy wheels to give X5 a separate presence.

M sport pro package

With the new M Sport Pro package, X5 now gets high gloss black elements around grill, air breeders and telpipe trims. BMW is offering 6 metallic paint options with the new X5, including Brooklyn Gray, Carbon Black, Mineral White, Skyscraper Gray, Tanzanite Blue and Black Saifier. The sporty appeal is also spread to the cabin which includes BMW individual piano black trim dashboard and signature M seat belts.

2025 BMW X5: Poverty Specifications
The German manufacturer is introducing 2025 X5 with petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine includes a 3.0-liter in-line 6-cylinder turbocharged engine that generates 376 bhp and 520 Nm peak torque. This helps the Powartrain X5 to reach at just 5.4 seconds at a speed of 0-100 km/h. On the other hand, the diesel engine is a 3-liter 6-cylinder in-line turbo diesel that generates 282 bhp and 650 Nm peak torque. This version enables SUV to reach in just 6.1 seconds at a speed of 0-100 km/h.

New Delhi. Vietnam's electric car manufacturer Winfast has been trying to make its mark for a long time and is now ready to take its first steps in India. The Vietnamese Electric Vehicle (EV) brand will launch its first products – VF7 and VF6 – in the country on 6 September. The company showcased both battery-purd vehicles at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year.

Company's first plant in Tamil Nadu
Winfast has a assembly plant setup at Sipcot Industrial Park in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, India. It is the company's third operational plant and 5th project in the global manufacturing network, and the first Winfast Plant outside Vietnam. VF7 and VF6 will be assembled in this facility. Booking for both electric SUVs started last month on a token amount of Rs 21,000. Before the official launch, let's see what these electric SUVs offer.

Winfast vf7

According to Winfast India website, VF7 will be available in two variants – technology and comfort+. While the international model uses 75.3 KWH batteries, the India-Spec variant is expected to be 70.8 KWH units, which will offer a range of 450-500 km per charge. The Drivetrain option for India is yet to be seen.

Features
The feature highlights include dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, panoramic glass roof, full-LED lighting, colored head-up display, connected car tech and level 2 ADAS. The cabin will have a dual-tone layout with vegan leather upholstery. Its initial price is expected to be Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).

Winfast vf6
The VF6 is a compact electric SUV designed for urban mobility, which is 4,238 mm in length and is available in two trims – Eco and plus. Both use front-wheel-drive setup, with Eco 172 bhp and plus 198 bhp generates. The SUV gets power from 59.6 kwh battery, which offers a range of 381-399 km based on variants.

World's fastest electric car
Byd Yangwang Y9 became the fastest EV Yangwang Y9 Track Edition has recorded a top speed of 472.41 kmph, making it the world's fastest EV. This record was earlier with Rimac Nevera R, which recorded a top speed of 391.94 km per hour in November last year, which is a jump of more than 20 percent. Yangwang Y9 was driven by German racing driver Mark Baseng. The Yangwang U9 track edition is based on the same E4 platform and Disus-X core architecture such as currently available in China, it distinguishes itself by incorporating the world's first massive produced 1200V Ultra-Hi-Woltage Vehicle Platform.

New Delhi. China's leading car manufacturer Gely has announced that its lead Galaxy M9 PHEV has filed more than 40,000 pre-cell orders within 24 hours after the bookings were opened on August 24. It is available in full-size plug-in hybrid SUV 6 variants, priced between 193,800 yuan (27,040 USD) to 258,800 yuan (36,100 USD). As the largest vehicle in the Galaxy lineup, it targets families looking for 6-seat layout and extended-ranged hybrid performance.

“Brilliant Galaxy”
The M9 is derived from the Galaxy Starship Concept shown at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show and includes many of its design elements. At the front, “Brilliant Galaxy” connects LED light bar headlamps, while a Lidar sensor is given on the roof. The length of the vehicle is 5,205 mm, the width is 1,999 mm and the height is 1,800 mm, which has 3,030 mm squat, which makes it only 4 mm smaller than the Mercedes-Benz GLS.

New Delhi. Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has unveiled its most affordable electric SUV, Atto 2, ever. This compact model is already passing through road trials in Delhi NCR. India is trying to strengthen its position in the fast growing electric SUV segment, where buyers are looking for affordable but feature-rich options.

Launched in UK
BYD has officially launched ATTO 2 in the UK market, where its start is £ 30,850 (about ₹ 32.5 lakh), which is for the base boost variant, while the high end comfort trim is priced £ 34,950 (about ₹ 41.3 lakh). Atto 2 is part of a strategic change for 2 byd, moving beyond the luxury electric vehicle segment, including models like Atto 3, Seal, and Sealion 7. Built on the Advance E-Platform 3.0 architecture of Byd, this compact SUV is 4,310mm long, 1,830mm wide and 1,675mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,620mm. These dimensions make it stand with players like Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv Ev, and Mg ZS EV.

Two separate battery configuration

Byd has prepared two separate battery configurations for Atto 2, which meet the needs and price points of different range. The base boost variant has a 51.1kwh blade battery pack that offers a 345km Wltp-approved range, while the comfort model has a 64.8kwh battery that increases the range by 420km. Both variants use front-wheel drive configurations, which are powered from single electric motor that generates 174bhp and 290Nm torque.

80 % charge in 30 minutes
The boost model 82kw DC supports fast charging, causing 30–80% battery charge in 30 minutes, while the advance 155kw charging system of comfort variants reduces this time by only 21 minutes. Both variants include BYD's signature blade battery technology, which has been engineered for safety, stability and thermal efficiency.

New design language
Bold design and dimensions will adopt the latest 'OPPOSITES United' design language of the new Kia SELTOS brand, as seen on Syros. It will have a newly designed front grille, slim and angular vertical drls and new fog lamp assembly. Spy image shows that 2026 Kia SELTOS will have a full LED light strip connecting new alloys and tail lamps.

Will get new features

According to reports, SELTOS size will increase with generation upgrade. Its total length is expected to increase 100 mm, making it the longest SUV in the segment. In fact, it will be longer than the Jeep Compass and will offer more boot space than the current generation. The South Korean Automaker is likely to electrify its 1.5L natural aspirated petrol engine, although it will be reserved for top-end trims. Existing 1.5L Natural Aspirated Petrol, 1.5L Turbo Petrol and 1.5L Turbo Diesel Engine will also be available. Transmission options will also remain the same.

New Delhi. Tata Motors has prepared to return many new generation models, facelift and special edition with seven new names. Future's Tata Product Series will be based on different platforms. The price of these models will be between Rs 10 lakh to 20 lakhs, including petrol/diesel, electric and hybrid segments. In the sub-4 meter SUV segment, the domestic automaker will introduce three models, including Tata Punch facelift, Tata Scarlet (fully new) and Next Jane Tata Nexon.

Tata Panch facelift
Changes in the design of 2025 Tata Panch will be inspired by Panch EV. It will have thin headlamps, redesigned bumpers, new LED DRL signature and new alloy wheels. The subcompact SUV is likely to get a 10.25-inch large touchscreen infotainment system, a full-fledged digital instrument cluster and two-spoke steering wheels like ultraz. A touch-based HVAC control panel can also be introduced. For power, the updated punch will continue to use 86bhp, 1.2L NA petrol and 73.4bhp, CNG engine.

Tata scarlet

Codename Scarlett, a fully new Tata Compact SUV will come with Boxy Stance with inspired design elements from Sierra. This will be based on a monocock platform, which will support several powertrains. While the official engine details are not currently available, the new Tata Scarlett Subcompact SUV is expected to be introduced with 120bhp of Nexon, 1.2L turbo petrol, 125bhp of curve, 1.2L TGDI petrol or a completely new 1.5L petrol engine. An electric variant of scarlet can also be introduced later.

New Jane Tata Nexon
Tata is also working on the new Nexon. The new model will be designed on the new design of the current X1 architecture. 2027 is expected to upgrade major design changes and feature for Tata Nexon. The existing petrol and CNG powertrain option is expected to remain, while diesel can be discontinued due to upcoming BS7 Emishine Standards.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Maruti Suzuki E-Vitara and Hybrid Battery Electrode Unit in Hansalpur, Gujarat, which will be exported to 100 countries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the local production unit of Maruti Suzuki Motor's hybrid battery electrode at Hansalpur plant in Gujarat and gave the green signal to the export of Maruti Suzuki's first global battery electric SUV, E-Vitara. This model will be made in India and will be sent to more than 100 countries including European countries and major markets like Japan.

Prior to this program, PM Modi described this launch as an important step towards India's self -sufficiency. He said that E-Vitara is a major achievement for the country's electric vehicle ecosystem and the start of electrode production in Gujarat will promote domestic battery manufacturing. The e-Vitara has been introduced as a global electric SUV and has a length of 4,275 mm, width 1,800 mm, height 1,640 mm and wheelbase 2,700 mm. It uses a 3-in-1 electric system which integrates motor, inverter and transmission.

Two battery pack option

Customers will have two battery pack options. A 49kwh unit with a front-mounted motor producing 144hp and 189Nm, and a large 61kwh unit with 174hp and 189Nm produced with front motor. For better performance, the large battery will be introduced with the all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup, with a 65hp rear motor. This AWD variant develops a joint output of 184hp and 300Nm, while the charge on the large battery pack is expected to give a driving range of more than 500 km.

Will get better after cell service
Maruti Suzuki will also create a strong charging and service network with E-Vitara. The owners will get smart home charger and installation assistance, while in the top 100 cities, public fast-charging points will be installed every 5-10 km within 2-3 years. To further strengthen after cell support, the company will prepare 1,500 eV-red workshops in more than 1,000 cities.
