Financial experts recommend adopting 20/4/10 rules while taking a car loan. This rule decides how much down payment you should make, how much of the loan period should be and how much part of your salary should be spent on EMI.

What is 20/4/10 Rules?

20% down payment: Pay the price of the car at least 20 percent in advance. This will reduce the loan amount and the burden of interest will be lighter. It can be a good option to save in advance or use a trade-in value of an old car.

4 -year loan tenure: Try to finish the car loan in a maximum of 4 years (48 months). Long -term loan EMI definitely reduces, but interest has to be paid more and the debt may be saved despite the value of the car.

10% income in EMI: Your monthly EMI should not exceed 10 percent of your net salary. This will not affect the rest of the expenses and savings. Suppose your salary is ₹ 60,000 and you are buying a car worth Rs 10 lakh. According to the rule, you have to make a down payment of Rs 2 lakh. EMI is to be repaid in 4 years and it should not exceed Rs 6,000 (10 percent of salary). If EMI comes out more than this, it would be better if you take a small car or increase the down payment.

Auto sales: The demand for car and two-wheeler in India remains continuously. In the first quarter (April-June) of FY 2025-26, more than 1 million passenger vehicles were sold in the country. According to data from Industry Body Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers i.e. SIAM, a total of 10.12 lakh vehicles were sold. Among them, Maharashtra achieved the number one position with the sale of 1.19 lakh units.

Along with cars, the two-wheeler and commercial vehicle segment also saw good growth. During this period, 46.75 lakh two -wheelers were sold across the country, in which Uttar Pradesh was at the forefront with the sale of 8.18 lakh units. At the same time, selling commercial vehicles was 2.23 lakh units, in which Maharashtra topped 32,000 units and topped the sale of 32,000 units.

1.65 lakh units of three wheeler sold

Talking about the three wheeler, 1.65 lakh units were sold in this segment. In this, Uttar Pradesh won with 21,000 units. In July 2025, the number of passenger vehicles sent from companies to dealers was 3,40,772 units, which is slightly lower than last year. The wholesale sales in July 2024 were 3,41,510 units.

The government may soon improve GST. It is proposed that tax on small cars and two-wheelers should be reduced from 28 percent to 18 percent. If this happens, vehicles will become economical before Diwali.

New Delhi. The third generation Renault Duster French Automeker's next big product will be launched in India. The production of this SUV is expected to start at the Chennai plant in Renault-Nissan next month (September 2025). For the new Duster, Renault will adopt multi -powertrain strategy and offer it with petrol (both natural aspirated and turbocharged), hybrid powertrain and CNG options. The sales of the new Renault Duster will start with a petrol engine in the first half of 2026.

Launch timeline
The much awaited Renault Duster Hybrid can come within 6 to 12 months of the arrival of petrol variants in the Indian market. It will be placed against the upcoming Next-Jen Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. According to media reports, the world premiere of the second generation Kia SELTOS may be in November 2025, after which its launch in India will be around April 2026.

Design and feature upgrade

The new generation Hyundai Creta will come with big designs and features updates in 2027. Interestingly, the new generation of Creta and SELTOS will be hybrid with their genetic upgrade. If the reports are correct, the new Kia SELTOS hybrid, the new Renault Duster will debut before the hybrid, while the new Creta Hybrid will reach the showroom after both these models.

Petrol and hybrid options
The Renault Duster of 2026 can initially be offered with 1.0L Natural Aspirated Petrol and 1.3L Turbo Petrol Engine Options. The Duster Hybrid sold in the global market comes with 94bhp, 1.6L petrol engine, dual motors and 1.2kwh batteries. This configuration gives maximum power of 140bhp. India-spec Duster can also get the same hybrid powertrain.

CNG and Electric Options
Renault is also considering CNG and electric Duster for the Indian market. If introduced, the CNG variant can use the third-party solutions seen in Kiger and Triber. However, the electric variant is currently in the think tank phase and it can take longer to come to the Indian roads.

Like other Tata SUVs in Safety, Sierra will offer several advance safety features including Level-2 ADAS (Autonomous Driver Assistance System), Electronic Stability Program, 360-Digry Camera, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Hill Hold/Decant Control and more.

4-seater lounge cabin
The lounge variant may contain a large L-shape sofa-like rear seating which can come into production. The concept model featured rear seat entertainment screen, phone charger, several connectivity options, foldable tray tables and arm rests. However, Sierra's 4-seater lounge variants have not yet been seen testing.

Different platforms for ICE and EV

Tata Sierra EV will be built on the active.EV platform which is also used in Panch EV and Curve EV, while the ICE-Purd variant will be based on Atlas Architecture.

Electric powertrain
Electric can borrow 65kwh and 75kwh battery packs from Sierra Harrier EV; However, the driving range may vary. The QWD system SUV's electric variant is expected to offer QWD or AWD Drivetrain option.

71 public charging stations are already operational within the GHMC limit. Apart from this, there are 10 more new stations which have reached the final phase of starting. At the same time, TGREDCO has set up 138 public charging stations in the city and its outskirts. Due to these stations, not only EV owners are getting facilities in the city, but EV charging network is also getting stronger in the surrounding towns.

The busiest charging points

According to the information, there are some charging stations in Hyderabad where most crowds are being seen. These include Malakam Cheruvu, IIIT, KPHB Colony, near the Deloite office and BHEL MIG area. There is a huge demand for EV charging points here and people are constantly demanding to increase more charging points.

EV users can easily detect available charging stations around them. Two major options are available for this. First, TGEV Mobile App which has been prepared by Telangana Energy Development Corporation. This app provides users information, information and other necessary details of close charging stations in real-time. The second option is the official website of GHMC. Citizens can go here and see the location of public charging stations present in the city and their status.

Reno Borel
Reno Borel has recently made his global debut and its launch in India is expected in the end of 2026 or in the first half of 2027. It is originally a three-day variant of the third generation Duster SUV. Both models will share platforms, powertrains, features and design elements. At the global level, the boral will be provided with 108bhp petrol engine, 51bhp electric motor, 1.4kwh battery pack and a starter generator. This setup offers about 155bhp joint power.

If media reports are to be believed, the new Maruti SUV (Maruti Escudo) will be the company's first CNG vehicle with an underbody CNG tank.

Price (potential)
However, official prices will be announced in a few days, the new Maruti Arena SUV is expected to be priced at about Rs 10-10.50 lakh for entry-level variants and up to Rs 18-19 lakh for top-end hybrid variants.

2025 BMW X5: Design
The overall design of BMW X5 is the same as before, only with a few small changes that give it a fresh look. The company showcased both battery-purd vehicles at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year.

Winfast has a assembly plant setup at Sipcot Industrial Park in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, India. It is the company's third operational plant and 5th project in the global manufacturing network, and the first Winfast Plant outside Vietnam. VF7 and VF6 will be assembled in this facility. According to Winfast India website, VF7 will be available in two variants – technology and comfort+. While the international model uses 75.3 KWH batteries, the India-Spec variant is expected to be 70.8 KWH units, which will offer a range of 450-500 km per charge. The feature highlights include dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, panoramic glass roof, full-LED lighting, colored head-up display, connected car tech and level 2 ADAS. The cabin will have a dual-tone layout with vegan leather upholstery. Its initial price is expected to be Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).

Winfast vf6
The VF6 is a compact electric SUV designed for urban mobility, which is 4,238 mm in length and is available in two trims – Eco and plus. Both use front-wheel-drive setup, with Eco 172 bhp and plus 198 bhp generates. The SUV gets power from 59.6 kwh battery, which offers a range of 381-399 km based on variants.

It is available in full-size plug-in hybrid SUV 6 variants, priced between 193,800 yuan (27,040 USD) to 258,800 yuan (36,100 USD). As the largest vehicle in the Galaxy lineup, it targets families looking for 6-seat layout and extended-ranged hybrid performance.

“Brilliant Galaxy”
The M9 is derived from the Galaxy Starship Concept shown at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show and includes many of its design elements. At the front, “Brilliant Galaxy” connects LED light bar headlamps, while a Lidar sensor is given on the roof. New Delhi. Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has unveiled its most affordable electric SUV, Atto 2, ever. This compact model is already passing through road trials in Delhi NCR. India is trying to strengthen its position in the fast growing electric SUV segment, where buyers are looking for affordable but feature-rich options.

Launched in UK
BYD has officially launched ATTO 2 in the UK market, where its start is £ 30,850 (about ₹ 32.5 lakh), which is for the base boost variant, while the high end comfort trim is priced £ 34,950 (about ₹ 41.3 lakh). Atto 2 is part of a strategic change for 2 byd, moving beyond the luxury electric vehicle segment, including models like Atto 3, Seal, and Sealion 7. Built on the Advance E-Platform 3.0 architecture of Byd, this compact SUV is 4,310mm long, 1,830mm wide and 1,675mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,620mm. These dimensions make it stand with players like Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv Ev, and Mg ZS EV.

Two separate battery configuration

Byd has prepared two separate battery configurations for Atto 2, which meet the needs and price points of different range. The base boost variant has a 51.1kwh blade battery pack that offers a 345km Wltp-approved range, while the comfort model has a 64.8kwh battery that increases the range by 420km. Both variants use front-wheel drive configurations, which are powered from single electric motor that generates 174bhp and 290Nm torque.

80 % charge in 30 minutes
The boost model 82kw DC supports fast charging, causing 30–80% battery charge in 30 minutes, while the advance 155kw charging system of comfort variants reduces this time by only 21 minutes. Both variants include BYD's signature blade battery technology, which has been engineered for safety, stability and thermal efficiency.

This will be based on a monocock platform, which will support several powertrains. While the official engine details are not currently available, the new Tata Scarlett Subcompact SUV is expected to be introduced with 120bhp of Nexon, 1.2L turbo petrol, 125bhp of curve, 1.2L TGDI petrol or a completely new 1.5L petrol engine. An electric variant of scarlet can also be introduced later.
