Electric avatar of Creta has arrived? What is special, how much is the price, all the details are here

New Delhi. Hyundai Creta, the most popular in the midsize SUV segment, is all set to be launched in electric avatar this January. Ahead of its official launch at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, Hyundai has revealed the features and battery options of this much-awaited SUV. With Creta EV, Hyundai is going to take a big step in the Indian electric vehicle market.

Creta EV will not only be a strong performing SUV, but will also prove to be a big step for Hyundai towards environmental protection. With its powerful features and advanced technology, it is set to set new standards in the Indian electric SUV market.

Battery and performance
Hyundai Creta EV will be available in two battery options

42 kWh battery: This entry-level variant will offer an ARAI-rated range of 390 km.
51.4 kWh long-range battery: This variant can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and claims to offer a range of 473 km. Hyundai says that it will take only 58 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% through DC fast charging. At the same time, it takes 4 hours to charge from 10% to 100% with an 11kW AC home charger.

Design and exterior
The design of Creta EV is largely similar to its ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) model. The front has L-shaped connected LED DRLs and vertically stacked twin LED headlights. The charging port is hidden behind the Hyundai logo. The 17-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels have been specially designed for the Creta EV. At the rear, connected LED taillights and a new pixelated design bumper make it different from other models.

Interior and Features
The interior of Hyundai Creta EV is also similar to its ICE version, but some modern features have been added to it:

Dual 10.25-inch screens (infotainment and instrument cluster).
New three-spoke steering wheel, inspired by the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
Regenerative braking system, which provides one-pedal driving experience.
Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, making it capable of powering external devices.
Apart from this, features like panoramic sunroof and multiple driving modes make it even more special.

price and competition
The starting price of Hyundai Creta EV is likely to be around ₹ 20 lakh. It will compete with Maruti Suzuki Vitara, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6 and Tata Curve EV.
