Tata Motors announced the prices and safety ratings of RWD variants of Harrier.EV. Harrier.ev achieved a 5-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP and performed better than Land Rover.
Tata famous for safe cars
Tata Motors is known for the safety of their cars. Except for Tigor and Tiago, all other Tata cars have received 5-star safety ratings. In fact, the recently launched Harrier.EV has received the best safety ratings in all TATA cars. Talking, this SUV has secured 32 out of 32 in adult safety and 45 out of 49 in Bal Safety. This SUV is based on the famous ACTI.EV platform, developed by Tata Motors.
On the other hand, Harrier's regular diesel model holds comparatively low individual safety scores. Tata Harrier Bharat was the first car to be crashed by NCAP. This SUV secured 30.08 out of 32 in adult safety and 44.54 out of 49 in child safety and got a 5-star safety rating. However, its score is slightly lower than its EV version. But why Land Rover?
Land Rover D8 based on platform
Now, as we all know, Diesel Harrier Land Rover D8 is based on the platform, called Omega Architecture. In a way, Harrier.ev, which is based on the platform developed by Tata Motors, has gained better safety ratings from the Land Rover platform based on the Land Rover platform! But how did Tata do this?
Over all safety
The main difference between the two Harriers is Paurtrain. One is equipped with diesel powertrain while the other is an EV with battery and electric motors. Now, Harrier.ev has received a 'good' comment for the frontal offset barrier test. This includes effects on the head, neck, chest, thigh, knee and legs of the driver and co-driver.
