Mahindra Currently there is no competitor in the market with Mahindra XEV 9S. This car can take the brand's philosophy to a new level in many cases. Many segment first features will be seen in the car which have not been seen in any electric car till now. In the coming time, the company will launch many more new EVs in the market and update its portfolio.
New Delhi. Mahindra has released a new teaser of the XEV 9S, which suggests that the upcoming 3-row electric SUV will debut with an electric Boss mode. This feature allows the second row passenger to electrically recline and slide the front passenger seat using a dedicated control panel, thereby providing ample legroom. This is a major upgrade compared to the manual Boss mode currently available in the XUV700 and shows Mahindra's intention to position the 9S as a driver-friendly electric flagship.
Mahindra XEV 9S: Exterior Design
On the outside, the XEV 9S adopts a more upright and practical silhouette compared to Mahindra's other born-electric models like the BE 6 and The 9S is styled with an emphasis on maximizing interior room, resulting in a tall stance and a raised roofline. Design highlights include a closed front fascia with a connected LED DRL bar, triangle projector headlamps located low on the bumper and aero-optimized alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV gets cleaner surfacing and sleek LED tail-lamps, which are inspired by the XUV700.
Mahindra XEV 9S: Interior Design
Inside the cabin, the XEV 9S shares the overall layout of the XEV 9e but with a lighter, more premium color theme and a lounge-like ambiance. The dashboard continues with Mahindra's signature triple-screen layout, consisting of a fully digital instrument cluster, a large central infotainment display and a dedicated passenger-side screen.

The teaser also gives a glimpse of features like ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a wireless charger, a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo and soft-touch materials throughout the cabin. With the INGLO platform featuring a flat floor and sliding/reclining seats for the first and second rows, the 9S offers superior flexibility and easy access to the third row. A panoramic sunroof and a Harman Kardon audio system enhance the overall experience.
Mahindra XEV 9S: Battery and range
Powertrain details have not been revealed yet, however, the XEV 9S is expected to use the same 59kWh and 79kWh LFP battery packs offered in the XEV 9e and BE 6. These units produce 231hp and 286hp respectively, both with 380Nm of torque. The larger battery pack in Mahindra's existing EVs offers a range of over 650 km, so the 9S can support ultra-fast DC charging with the same long-range capability.
