One thing was most discussed at the time of launch – why is the power output of the 75 kWh RWD variant less than the 63 kWh RWD?

The 63 kWh model produces 238 PS (175 kW), while the 75 kWh RWD produces only 209 PS (154 kW). This is a difference of 29 PS (about 12%), while the 75 kWh variant is also costlier and has a longer range. Tata has now given an official statement regarding this.

Why is power reduced in bigger packs?

According to Tata Motors, this is not a mistake but an intentional engineering decision. Both batteries are packed in the same volume. The 75 kWh battery uses high-capacity cells and Cell-to-Pack (C2P) architecture, achieving excellent packaging efficiency of 141 Wh/kg and 8.9 km/kWh energy efficiency.

This brings the ARAI range to 665 km (99 km more than 63 kWh). However, this resulted in a slight reduction in operating voltage, resulting in reduced peak power. The company says that the peak torque of 315 Nm is the same in both the RWD variants, so there will be no significant difference in daily driving and city-highway performance. 75 kWh is range-focused, while 63 kWh is performance-oriented.

Sierra EV comes with an attractive design like the ICE model. Its highlights are closed-off grille, end-to-end LED DRL, LED taillights, flush door handles, 19-inch alloy wheels with aero inserts and a large panoramic sunroof (1525mm x 925mm). Talking about design, Sierra EV Neo is made in retro style, which combines the boxy look of the old Sierra with a modern touch. Tata's focus on safety is strongest. It comes with BNCAP 5-star rating ready body structure. Standard features include 6 or 7 airbags (depending on variant), ABS with EBD, ESP with i-VBAC, electronic parking brake, hill hold and hill descent control. There are Level 2 ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking etc. A 360-degree camera, tire pressure monitoring and a built-in dashcam also add to the safety.

Battery, Motor and Range

Harrier EV has two battery options – 65 kWh and 75 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery pack. The ARAI certified range with the 75 kWh battery is 622-627 km, while the 65 kWh battery has a range of around 538 km. In real world it can easily travel up to 400-500 km. The motor setup consists of a permanent magnet synchronous motor at the rear in RWD (rear-wheel drive) producing 238 PS (175 kW) of power and 315 Nm of torque.

QWD (all-wheel drive) gets 158 PS induction motor at the front and 238 PS at the rear, totaling 390 bhp (about 396 PS) power and 504 Nm torque. 0-100 kmph can be achieved in just 6.3 seconds and the top speed is 180 kmph. Fast charging takes 250 km range in 15 minutes on a 120 kW DC charger or 25 minutes for 20-80%. AC charging at 7.2 kW takes 10.7 hours from 10-100%. The company is also giving lifetime battery warranty on it.

Toyota Urban Cruiser EV It is going to enter the Indian auto market tomorrow i.e. on 20th January. This is a rebadged version of Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, but will come with Toyota's special design elements. The estimated price of this electric SUV can be kept between Rs 18 lakh to Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). In the Indian market, it is going to compete with electric cars like Hyundai Creta EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6 and Tata Curvv EV.

Its overall look is that of an SUV. Urban Cruiser EV length is 4285 mm, width is 1800 mm, height is 1635 mm and wheelbase is 2700 mm. Available in colors White, Red and Black. It is built on a dedicated BEV platform, which provides high rigidity and low center of gravity. The interesting thing is that the company is launching it even before Maruti Suzuki e Vitara. The second is a 61 kWh battery pack, which is capable of producing 174 PS power and 192.5 Nm torque. It is capable of giving a maximum ARAI claimed range of 543 km. With the help of fast charging, it can be charged 10-80% in just 45 minutes. Battery warranty is going to be up to 8 years/1.6 lakh km.

Mercedes-Benz has updated its flagship electric SUV, the EQS, for 2026 in India. Available in two versions, the five-seat EQS 450 and seven-seat EQS 580, the EQS is not about dramatic design changes this time, but about refining what is already doing well. Here are five things that show why the 2026 EQS still makes sense.

1. Flagship Positioning

The EQS remains the most expensive and most advanced electric SUV from Mercedes-Benz in India. With prices starting from ₹Going up to Rs 1.34 crore (ex-showroom) for the EQS 450 ₹At Rs 1.48 crore for the EQS 580, it clearly sits above the rest of the brand's EV lineup. In simple words, this is a no-compromise electric SUV from Mercedes.

2. Range

Driving range is still one of the EQS's strongest cards. The EQS 450 is estimated to go 775 km on a single charge, while the EQS 580 goes a step further and claims a range of 809 km. Both use the same 122 kWh battery pack, and while real-world numbers will be lower, these figures put the EQS among the longest-range electric SUVs on sale in India.

3. Strong performance with all-wheel drive

The EQS doesn't scream about performance, but it has plenty of it. The EQS 450 produces 355 bhp and 800 Nm of torque, good for a 0-100 km/h time of 6.2 seconds. The EQS 580 takes things further with 536 bhp and 858 Nm, reducing that speed to 4.8 seconds. Both versions have 4MATIC all-wheel drive as standard and a top speed limited to 210 km/h.

4. Fast-charging capability and Airmatic

Mercedes has paired the larger battery with 200kW DC fast-charging support, which allows charging from 10 to 80 percent in a claimed 31 minutes under ideal conditions. Both variants come with AIRMATIC air suspension as standard, which plays a big role in making the EQS feel more comfortable and controlled, especially on long journeys.

5. Extended feature list for 2026

For 2026, Mercedes has made changes that owners will really notice. The AMG Line exterior package, previously limited to the EQS 580, is now available on the EQS 450 as well. Rear seat ventilation, which was previously exclusive to the top variant, has also been reduced. Rear passengers now get an MBUX tablet to control comfort and infotainment, cementing the EQS's focus on driving as well as driving.

It can be equipped with Mercedes' massive MBUX HyperScreen: a seamless curved display that spans multiple screens for driver, central and passenger functions under a glass surface. The interface uses Mercedes' “layer zero” concept, which shows key functions up front so you don't need to dig through menus, and it can personalize suggestions using built-in AI.

Skoda has named the production version of the Vision 7S concept as Peak, which will debut in 2026 and will rival the Mercedes-Benz GLB and Peugeot e-5008.

New Delhi. Skoda has confirmed that the production-ready version of the Vision 7S concept will be called Peak. It will basically be a 7-seater electric SUV, which will compete with the Mercedes-Benz GLB and Peugeot e-5008 in the global market. Being a flagship offering, the new Skoda Peak will be the most expensive car from the Czech automaker, costing more than the Enyaq EV. This electric SUV will make its world debut in the summer of 2026, after which its official specifications and price will be announced.

Skoda Peak EV – What to Expect?
The Skoda Vision 7S concept, which was shown at the Bharat Mobility Show last year, may come to India in its production-ready avatar in 2027. This three-row EV, about 4.9 meters long, is expected to be very close to its concept. Like the show car, the cabin of the production-ready Skoda Peak is likely to use sustainable materials such as leather-free upholstery.

Battery and range
The concept shown had an 89kWh battery pack, which claims to give a range of more than 600 km on a single charge as per WLTP. Skoda has also said that the Peak will have fast charging support up to 200kW. It can be offered in both RWD (rear-wheel drive) and AWD (all-wheel drive) configurations.
