According to the FY2025 report, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Reno, Honda and Nissan will launch new hybrid models by 2026, with Maruti Victoris the most fuel-fidelity.

Maruti hybrid cars/SUVs
India's largest passenger car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki has planned several new hybrid vehicles by 2026. Starting from Maruti Victoris, it will come with midsize SUV Grand Vitara's 116bhp, 1.5L Strong Hybrid Povertrain. It claims that it will give a mileage of 28.65kmpl, which will make it the most fuel-fit car in India. Victoris will be followed by Fronx Hybrid, new generation Baleno Hybrid and a hybrid mini MPV. All three models will come with Maruti Suzuki's in-house developed hybrid powertrain, with a 1.2L Z-series petrol engine and brand will have their own strong hybrid system.
Codename S226, Mahindra XUV 3xo Hybrid is likely to come on the roads in 2026. This will be the first hybrid offering of the brand, which will have a 1.2L turbo petrol engine. The outer part of the SUV is expected to have some hybrid-specific software updates for 'hybrid' badges and instrument clusters.
Honda elevate hybrid
Honda Cars India missed the opportunity to introduce hybrid powertrain for elevate at the time of launch. Given the growing market demand, the car manufacturer has now decided to launch Honda Elevate Hybrid in 2026 to challenge Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyder. For Midsize SUV, Honda City E: HEV's Atkinson Cycle can use a 1.5L petrol engine.
Reno and Nissan Hybrid SUVs
Reno Duster is ready to return to India earlier next year. The SUV will come with a new styling, premium interior and many powertrains including hybrids. However, the Reno Duster Hybrid will be introduced about 6 months after the arrival of its regular petrol variant. In global markets, the duster (which is sold as a desia duster) is available with 140bhp, 1.6L petrol-hybrid powertrain.
