Kia Syros EV can be launched in August 2026.

Kia India is preparing to launch its smallest and affordable electric car Ciros EV in August 2026. It is likely that this car will be the company's cheapest EV in India, which will compete directly with vehicles like Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV. This car converted from ICE version to EV will come with EV-specific styling and features.

Ciros EV is built on K1 platform. This will be front-wheel drive. Earlier it was scheduled to be launched in early 2026, but now it is being delayed by six months. Still, it will hit the market within one and a half years of the launch of the ICE version. The estimated price is believed to be between ₹15 lakh to ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom). Let us know what will be seen in Syros EV.

Design and interior

The design of Cirros EV will be boxy and tall-boy style like the ICE version. Quirky look, vertical headlamps and taillamps will give it a different identity. Spy shots during testing show a charging flap on the passenger side front fender. It will look very similar to the ICE model with EV-specific bumpers, special alloy wheels and mild changes.

However, elements that enhance electric appeal will be added. The dashboard layout in the interior will mostly remain the same. EV-specific display, different trim and upholstery may be available. The spacious cabin will continue to be the specialty of the Ciros. Facilities like ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof are possible.

Features and safety

The feature list will remain the same as the ICE version, but it is expected to get EV-specific V2L (Vehicle to Load) and V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle) capability. It may have features like Kia Connect 2.0, dual 12.3-inch screens, 360-degree camera and wireless charger. Availability of ADAS Level-2 is currently uncertain, as it was removed in the recent ICE update.

The Ciros ICE version has a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, so the EV version will also come with a strong safety package. Expect 6 airbags, ESC, hill assist, TPMS and standard 20 safety features. Being an EV, there will be extra focus on battery safety and emergency systems.

Battery, Motor and Range

42 kWh and 49 kWh battery pack options can be given in Ciros EV, which are inspired by Hyundai Inster EV. Power is likely to be around 135 PS with a front-wheel drive setup. The estimated range could be between 300-400 kilometers (ARAI). Practical real-world performance is expected to be good with fast charging support.
