Maruti Suzuki is preparing a facelift version of its popular compact SUV Brezza, which is expected to be launched by the end of 2026. Recently, its testing mule has been spotted on Indian roads with highly camouflage, the biggest reveal of which is the underbody CNG tank. This change will significantly increase the boot space as compared to the existing model, as the tank will now be placed below instead of the traditional tailgate-mounted CNG cylinder.

This update will make the Brezza more attractive to CNG buyers, especially those families who want practicality along with long drives. New LED taillights, fresh alloy wheels and revised bumpers are also seen in the spy shots. Overall, with the stylish updates, better features and CNG facility in the facelift, Brezza will strengthen its hold in the market. Let us know what is going to change in this?

Design Updates

The overall silhouette of the Brezza facelift will remain the same, but there will be changes in the front and rear. It will look more modern and bold with a new grille, updated headlamps, revised front and rear bumpers. New LED taillights and shark-fin antenna can be seen in the rear. New black alloy wheels will further enhance the style. Due to the underbody CNG setup, the boot floor will remain clean, which will prove helpful in increasing the luggage space.

Interior and Features

The major change in the cabin could be the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which will come with better resolution and wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. There is a possibility of getting a new dashboard layout, updated seat design and premium theme. Comfort features like ventilated front seats and powered driver seat can be added to the top variants. The Brezza facelift is likely to continue with the 1.5-litre K15C NA petrol engine, which produces around 99-103 hp power and 137 Nm torque. A CNG version will also be available, which may improve performance with an underbody tank. Some reports also discuss a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine or hybrid setup. On one side there is German engineering and driving feel, while on the other side there is more space, features and premium appeal. If you are thinking of buying a new SUV, then this comparison will be very helpful for you.

Prices for the VW Taigun Facelift start around ₹11 lakh and go up to ₹19.3 lakh (ex-showroom). Whereas, the price of Tata Sierra ranges from ₹ 11.49 lakh to ₹ 21.29 lakh. That means Taigun is cheaper in the base variant, whereas Sierra is more expensive and gives premium positioning in the top variant. Let us know which of the two will be a more profitable deal to buy?

Design and interior

The Taigun Facelift gets subtle updates like illuminated logo, LED light bar and sporty look, which give it a modern and European feel. On the other hand, the design of Sierra is more bold and SUV-like, with large size, boxy style and strong road presence. Overall, the Taigun looks sporty, while the Sierra looks more premium and blanky.

Talking about the interior, the cabin of Taigun is premium but compact, with good fit-finish. The interior of the Sierra is more spacious and futuristic, the longer wheelbase gives more legroom to the rear passengers. Sierra is more comfortable for family use.

Features and safety

Taigun has features like 10.1-inch touchscreen, digital cluster, ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof and wireless connectivity. Sierra comes out ahead as it gets advanced features like 12.3-inch screen, 12-speaker JBL system, HUD, 360° camera, powered tailgate and ADAS.

Taigun gets 5-star safety rating with 6 airbags, ESC and strong body. Sierra also has 6 airbags, but it comes with advanced safety features like 360° camera and level-2 ADAS, which make it safer.

It can be bought with 1.5 liter NA petrol, 1.5 liter turbo petrol (up to 160PS) and 1.5 liter diesel engine. Both are good in terms of performance, but Sierra offers more variety. The mileage of both is around 15-18 KMPL.

Who is better: If you want driving fun, compact size and better handling then Taigun is better. But if you want space, features and a family-friendly SUV, the Tata Sierra offers more value. The prices of both go up and down depending on the variant.

'Top' features are available in the base variants of these SUVs; Price starts from ₹8 lakh

The demand for compact and sub-compact SUVs is continuously increasing in the Indian car market. Especially for those buyers who want a vehicle with good features, safety and performance in the budget, the base variant is no longer as basic as before. In many models, 6 airbags, touchscreen, power windows and good safety features are available in the base variant only.

In this article we will compare the base variants of three popular SUVs – Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos and Hyundai Venue. These three vehicles are strong contenders in terms of style, practicality and value for money. Their updated version in 2026 has created a stir in the market, where even the base models are quite loaded. If you want to buy an SUV in a budget of Rs 10-15 lakh, then it can be beneficial to look at their base variants.

Skoda Kushaq

The ex-showroom price of its base variant Classic Plus 1.0 TSI MT starts from around ₹ 10.69 lakh. It has been made more attractive in the 2026 facelift. A single-pane sunroof is standard in the base model, which is a big plus point in this segment.

Features include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted controls, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, height adjustable driver seat, power windows and LED headlamps. In terms of safety, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC and 5-star GNCAP rating make it strong.

The engine is a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol, which delivers good power (about 115 PS) and driving dynamics. Mileage can be around 19-20 kmpl. The specialty of Kushaq is its strong build quality, European handling and spacious cabin. The base variant is a sensible choice for those who give priority to driving enjoyment and safety. However, some premium features like larger screen or ventilated seats are available in higher variants.

Kia Seltos

The price of the base variant HTE of the new 2026 generation Seltos starts at ₹ 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Seltos has always been feature-packed and even the base model is no behind. Safety features like 10.25-inch infotainment screen, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, cruise control, manual AC with rear vents, rear camera, 6 airbags and ESC are available here. The 12-inch digital cluster and good build quality give a premium feel to the cabin.

Engine options include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (MT), which is smooth and fuel efficient. Diesel and turbo options are also available. The specialty of Seltos is large cabin space, comfortable ride and modern design. The base variant is good for family users who want features and comfort without spending much. It is a little more expensive than the Kushaq, but offers more space and a refined feel.

Hyundai Venue

Venue is the most affordable option in the sub-4 meter SUV segment. Ex-showroom prices for the base HX2 variant start at around ₹ 8 lakh, making it attractive for budget buyers. Projector headlamps, touchscreen infotainment, digital cluster, 6 airbags and basic safety features are available in the base model. The 1.2-litre petrol engine is adequate for city driving, while turbo and diesel options are also available. Mileage remains good (18-21 kmpl).

The strengths of Venue are its compact size, easy maneuverability, stylish looks and Hyundai's strong service network. However, it is much smaller than the Kushaq and Seltos, so rear space and boot space may be limited. The base variant is best for young buyers or first-time SUV buyers who want modern features in a low budget.

Our advice: The base variants of all three SUVs have now become quite mature. Skoda Kushaq leads in driving dynamics, safety and build quality, especially in terms of sunroof and handling. Kia Seltos is balanced in features, space and premium feel, while Hyundai Venue is the most affordable and perfect for the city.

In terms of price, Venue is the most affordable, followed by Kushaq and then Seltos. If your priority is driving fun and safety, choose Kushaq, Seltos for family comfort and Venue for budget + style. Ultimately the decision depends on your needs, budget and test drive.
