Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is the only MPV in India to cross the 2 lakh mark with sales of 1,98,876 units in FY26. This shows an annual growth of 4.1% compared to the previous financial year. It has achieved about 41% market share in the MPV segment. It continues to be popular among families and fleet operators due to its reliability, space and low running costs.
The starting ex-showroom price of Ertiga in Delhi starts at ₹8.80 lakh, while the top variant (ZXi+ AT) goes up to ₹12.94 lakh. Its on-road price ranges from around ₹10 lakh to ₹15 lakh (depending on variant, transmission and CNG option). Both petrol and CNG options are available, making it budget-friendly. Design and interior
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is a practical and family-oriented MPV. Its exterior design is sleek and modern, which includes a chrome-studded front grille, LED daytime running lights, rear spoiler and attractive alloy wheels. With 4395 mm length, 1735 mm width and 2740 mm wheelbase, it looks stable and big on the road. Its high ground clearance (about 180-185 mm) is suitable for Indian roads. The side profile is clean, giving it a premium MPV look. In the third gen update, the bumpers and headlamps have been refreshed, making it look more attractive than the old model.
The cabin of Ertiga is quite spacious and comfortable. This is a 7-seater MPV, which has flexible seating arrangement. The second row seats can slide and recline, providing ample space for adults in the third row as well. The dual tone interior theme, soft-touch materials and good build quality give it a premium feel. Boot space starts at 209 litres, which increases to 803 liters when the third row is folded. Front and rear AC vents, good headroom-legroom and comfortable fabric upholstery are perfect for long journeys. The dashboard is clean and the instrument cluster is an analog-digital combination.
Features and safety
Ertiga is full of features. It has a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Automatic climate control, cruise control, steering mounted controls, rear parking sensors/camera, power windows and multiple USB Type-C charging ports are available in higher variants. Paddle shifters are also provided in some variants. Smart Hybrid Technology provides engine start-stop and brake energy regeneration, making driving easy and economical. Overall, it gives good competition in the segment in terms of features.
In terms of safety, the Ertiga has 6 airbags (in top variants), ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors and seat belt reminder as standard. Overspeed alert has also been given. Although it has received a 3 star rating in Global NCAP under the old protocol and 1 star rating in some tests, the safety features available are adequate for daily use. Rear parking camera and sensors make city parking easy.
Engine and Mileage
Ertiga is equipped with 1.5-litre K15C smart hybrid petrol engine, which generates 102 bhp power and 139 Nm torque. It is available with 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The power is slightly less in the CNG variant (about 87-88 bhp), but the running costs are greatly reduced. ARAI mileage is 20.51 kmpl in petrol manual and around 20.3 kmpl in auto, while the CNG variant claims up to 26.11 km/kg.
