Volkswagen India has officially announced the facelift model of its popular mid-size SUV Taigun. The company has started production of the new Taigun at its plant in Pune. This updated model is going to be launched in India on 9 April 2026. This is the first major update of Taigun, which is coming after its launch in 2021. Three engine options
Petrol, Hybrid and CNG Maruti Escudo are likely to have three engine options borrowed from Grand Vitara – 1.5L K15C Petrol, 1.5L Atkinson Cycle Strong Hybrid and a CNG variant. Hybrid configuration will be introduced with high trims.

Segment-first features
Segment-first features According to media reports, Escudo will be the first car of Maruti Suzuki with an underbody CNG kit, which will increase boot space. It will also become the first Maruti to offer a powered tailgate and 4WD (four-wheel drive) system with Level-2 ADAS and Dolby Atmos technology. Other features are expected to be like Grand Vitara.
