The Grand i10 Nios starts at ₹5.55 lakh (Era Petrol) and the top variant goes around ₹8 lakh. While Tiago focuses on value for money and safety, Nios offers a refined drive and stylish interiors. Design

The 2026 Tata Tiago gets a completely new look. Modern appeal with sharp headlamps, new front grille and rear design. It looks compact (about 3767 mm long) and aggressive. With crisp lines and a bold front, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios sports more sleek and premium styling. Nios is slightly longer (3815 mm), which gives more presence on the road. Tiago suits young buyers, while Nios suits family users.

The cabin of the Tiago is significantly upgraded with a new dashboard, dual-tone theme, 10.25-inch touchscreen and fully digital cluster. Space is good, but may seem a little tight compared to Nios. The Tiago comes with segment-first features like 360-degree camera, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, wireless charging and paddle shifters in AMT. Engine and Mileage

Both are with 1.2L engine. Tiago gives 85-86 PS power in petrol, slightly less in CNG. Nios has power around 82 PS. The Tiago's engine is punchy and fun to drive. Talking about mileage, Tiago can run up to 19-20 kmpl in petrol and 26+ km/kg in CNG. At the same time, Nios is capable of giving a mileage of 16-18 kmpl in petrol and up to 27 km/kg in CNG. If you want safety, value and lower price, then Tiago is a better option.

Maruti Suzuki Swift is at number one in the list. A total of 17,806 units were sold last month. This figure shows a decline of 4 percent on an annual basis as compared to 17,081 units sold in January 2025.

The ex-showroom price of Maruti Suzuki Swift ranges from Rs 5.79 lakh to Rs 8.80 lakh. The interior is spacious and premium. It has features like 7-9 inch touchscreen, wireless charging and cruise control. Safety features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD and hill hold as standard. The engine is 1.2L Z-series petrol (80-82 bhp, 111 Nm), which is capable of giving mileage up to 32.85 km/kg in CNG.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno

Baleno is at number two in the list. It has got 16,782 new customers last month. This figure shows a 16 percent decline on an annual basis as compared to the total 19,965 units sold in January 2025.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR

WagonR is at number three in terms of sales. A total of 15,118 units have been sold in January 2026. This figure shows a huge decline of 37 percent on an annual basis compared to the total 24,078 units sold in January 2025.

Maruti Suzuki Alto

Maruti Alto is at number four in the list. A total of 12,314 units were sold last month. This figure represents an increase of 8 percent on an annual basis as compared to the total 11,352 units sold in January 2025.

Tata Tiago

With the increase in sales, Tata Tiago has registered its name in the list of top-5 hatchbacks. It got a total of 8,349 new customers last month. This figure shows an annual increase of 23 percent as compared to 6,807 units sold in January 2025.

Apart from the top-5 hatchbacks of January 2026 mentioned above, last month 7,710 units of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, 5,677 units of Hyundai i20, 3135 units of Tata Altroz, 2,978 units of Toyota Glanza and only 1,902 units of Maruti Suzuki Ignis were sold.

Hyundai hatchback – Grand i10 Nios, i20 Hyundai's entry-level model, the Grand i10 Nios, now starts at Rs 5.47 lakh with a GST-related price cut of Rs 51,022. The i10 Nios remains a strong performer in the hatchback segment. The Hyundai i20 has received a price cut of Rs 64,035 and now starts at Rs 6.87 lakh. Powered by a 1.2L petrol engine (83 PS – MT / 88 PS – IVT), it is one of the top sellers among the premium hatchbacks.

Hyundai Verna, which is the Indian Car of the Year 2024, now starts at Rs 10.69 lakh with a price cut of Rs 60,640. It is offered with two powertrains – 115 PS 1.5L MPI petrol and 160 PS 1.5L turbo petrol.

Hyundai SUVs – Exeter, Venue, Creta, Alcazar Hyundai's compact SUV Exeter has received a price cut of Rs 55,984, making its prices now starting at Rs 6.05 lakh. Exeter contributes about 12% to Hyundai's total sales. The popular Hyundai Venue now starts at Rs 7.26 lakh after GST benefits, which includes a deduction of Rs 67,719. It is Hyundai's second best selling car after Creta, contributing about 19% to the brand's total sales.
