The teaser of Hyundai i20 has been revealed.
Hyundai Motor is preparing the fourth generation of its popular premium hatchback i20, which is going to be launched later this year. The recently released teaser image shows the front end of the new i20, which looks quite sportier and modern. The new car has been provided with Y-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs), which look like the Lamborghini Revello. The combination of full-width LED bar and rectangular headlamps makes it premium and attractive.
Spotted on test mules many times before, this car has adopted angular design language, which looks bolder and boxier than the current model. It is expected that the sub-4 meter length will be maintained in India so that tax benefits can be availed. The new i20 has been designed keeping in mind the preferences of young customers, which has a perfect combination of sportiness and practicality.

The exterior of the new generation i20 will change significantly. The front has an upright facia, a new grille and a full-width bar with Y-shaped LED DRLs. The side profile will feature sharp door and window lines, angular roofline and sporty alloy wheels. The rear is also likely to have Y-shaped taillamps and refreshed bumper. The length of the car in India will be around 3995 mm, while in markets like Brazil, there may be a slight increase in height.
Interior and Features
The interior will also be made more sharp and modern. Expect curved dual screens, large central display and advanced infotainment systems like Pleos Connect. The new color theme, updated upholstery and better material quality will give the cabin a more premium feel. Facilities like 360 degree surround view camera can also be available.
Safety
In terms of safety, the new i20 will come with Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), which will make a strong claim in the modern hatchback segment. It is going to include a package of various sensors, cameras and safety features.
Engine and Performance
In the Indian market, the 1.2 liter petrol engine can be carried over, which gives 83 PS (manual) and 88 PS (iVT) power. Torque is 114.7 Nm. The N Line variant will have a 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine with 120 PS power and 172 Nm torque. Transmission options include 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT. Hybrid powertrain option may also be available in some international markets.
