Mahindra made huge sales on the basis of Scorpio and Thar! Exports also increased

Mahindra & Mahindra has performed well in June 2026 registering domestic sales of 60,393 units, showing a strong growth of 28% over last year. Total vehicle sales (including exports) reached 1,06,207 units, registering an annual growth of 37%. Strong demand and marketing strategies of popular models like Scorpio, Thar, XUV700 contributed a lot to this success of the company.

The June numbers reinforce Mahindra's continued growth trajectory, especially in SUVs and commercial vehicles. Even in the first three months of FY27, the company's SUV sales stood at 1,74,745 units, which is an increase of 15%. This performance has maintained Mahindra's strong hold and customer trust in the Indian automobile sector.

SUV segment achievement

Mahindra has sold 60,393 new SUVs in the domestic market in June 2026, which is 28% more than 47,306 units in June 2025. Total SUV sales (including exports) stood at 61,504 units. This is the third consecutive month when the company is crossing the target of more than 50,000 SUV sales. SUV sales have reached 1,74,745 units in June FY27.

Commercial vehicles and three-wheeler performance

Domestic sales in the LCV (less than 3.5T) segment stood at 26,076 units, a growth of 35%. 36% growth was seen in LCV (less than 2T) and 35% growth in LCV 2-3.5T. Three-wheeler (including electric) sales stood at 13,820 units, showing a massive growth of 63%.

Exports and total sales

There was a huge jump in exports. Total exports in June were 5,918 units, which is an increase of 125%. Exports reached 15,888 units (64% growth) annually in June. Overall sales of 1,06,207 vehicles have kept the company in a strong position.

Mahindra's Automotive Division CEO Nalinikant Gollaguna said that in June we achieved growth of 28% and 35% with SUV sales at 60,393 units and LCV (less than 3.5T) sales at 26,076 units. Total sales of 1,06,207 units represent 37% year-on-year growth. Demand in the portfolio remains strong.

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has performed brilliantly in March 2026, registering sales of 60,272 utility vehicles (SUVs) in the domestic market. This figure shows a strong growth of 25 percent compared to 48,048 units last year in March 2025. Talking about total auto sales, the company sold 99,969 vehicles in March, which is 21 percent more than the same period last year. With this achievement, Mahindra has ended FY26 on a record level.

Nalinikant Gollaguna, CEO of the company's automotive division, said the financial year ended on a positive note. We have achieved highest ever volumes in both SUV and LCV (<3.5T) segments. SUV sales in March stood at 60,272 units, a growth of 25 percent, while LCV sales increased by 11 percent at 24,928 units. Total vehicle sales stood at 99,969 units, which is 21 percent annual growth.

Dominance of SUVs!

Models like Scorpio range, Thar, Bolero and the newly launched XUV 7XO contributed significantly to Mahindra's SUV sales in March 2026. The Scorpio series continues to be the top seller, while the Thar and XUV700 variants are also showing strong demand. The new XUV 7XO is getting good response from the market, which is giving additional volumes to the company. Overall, total SUV sales (including exports) in March stood at 62,109 units.

Talking about the full year of FY26, Mahindra has sold a record 6,60,276 new SUVs, which is an increase of about 20 percent compared to the previous financial year. Similarly, 13 percent growth was recorded in the LCV segment with sales of 2,89,597 units. In April-February FY26 alone, the company had sold more than 6 lakh passenger vehicles and the March figures took it to a new high. With this success, Mahindra has taken a strong step towards creating the record of highest PV sales in the non-Maruti Suzuki category.

There are many reasons behind this growth. The demand for SUVs is continuously increasing in the Indian market, especially for premium and lifestyle SUVs. Mahindra has strengthened its portfolio in the last few years. Made Thar a favorite of off-roading lovers, gave Scorpio an affordable and tough image, while luxury SUVs like XUV700/XUV 7XO have made a place in the upper segment. The company's new product strategy, better features, customer-focused design and marketing have boosted sales.

Mahindra also performed brilliantly in the tractor segment. Domestic tractor sales in March 2026 were 43,403 units, which is an annual growth of 33 percent. Total tractor sales in the entire month were 45,035 units, which has increased by 29 percent. President of Farm Equipment Business, Vijay Nakra said that rural demand increased as the entire Navratri season fell in March.
