New Delhi. India's largest passenger vehicle manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, is now preparing to increase its product portfolio. By moving beyond the traditional vehicles, the company will add many new products to its portfolio. Through a recently signed memorandum (MOU), Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has been approved to manufacture several new machines like drone, Anmand Air Vehicle (UAV), Electric Air Taxi.

Waiting for annual general meeting
The board of the company approved these new business plans in a meeting held on 31 July 2025. Now these changes will be introduced in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held on August 28, 2025 for the final approval of the company's share holders.

New mobility service
This new business strategy will also help Maruti Suzuki to detect new mobility service such as EV charging, car leasing and sale of old cars. The company also aims to discover future techniques and new businesses, which are not limited to the manufacture of petrol and diesel vehicles. Maruti Suzuki will offer facilities for research and development, supply chain service and vehicle testing.

Maruti's electric flying car

Maruti's associate company, Suzuki Motor Corporation and Japanese Skydrive signed an agent in June 2023 for the construction of Skydrive (SD-05 Type). Skydrive is famous for its safe, more economical and zero emission mobility solutions.

Skydrive (SD-05 Type) is a Next Jane's Evtol (Electric Vertical Tech-off and Landing) aircraft, also known as Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) or Urban Air Mobility (UAM). The aircraft is designed for internal routes of the small town, which offers a 15 km range and a top speed of 100 kmph.

Skydrive's SD-05 EVTOL aircraft joined India at the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS), which was held from 10 to 12 January 2024. The 1/5 scale model of the aircraft was showcased at this summit. It also indicates the launch of air taxi and urban air mobility solutions in India in association with Maruti Suzuki.
