Mercedes-AMG has launched its new performance hybrid model AMG E 53 Hybrid 4MATIC+ in the Indian market. Its price starts from ₹ 1.45 crore (ex-showroom) and goes up to ₹ 1.48 crore. Available in two variants, Performance Edition and Racing Edition, this luxury sedan offers a great combination of power, electric range and luxury. This is a new generation plug-in hybrid model, which combines a 3.0-litre turbo inline-six petrol engine with an electric motor.

Design and interior
The exterior of the AMG E 53 is sporty and aggressive. Wide front fenders, large air intakes, AMG-specific grille, sporty bumper and exhaust tips distinguish it from the standard E-Class. The 19-20 inch AMG alloy wheels in the side profile and the spoiler with the diffuser at the rear give it a dynamic look.
The cabin is a mix of luxury and sportiness. The interiors feel premium with Nappa leather upholstery, AMG-specific sports seats, flat-bottom steering wheel, ambient lighting and high-quality materials. The dual/triple screen setup (MBUX infotainment) provides a modern experience to the driver.

Powertrain and mileage
The 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-6 petrol engine coupled with an electric motor (about 120 kW) produces 585 hp (up to 604 hp in Race Start mode) and 750 Nm of torque. It gives excellent performance with 9-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC+ AWD system.
It is capable of providing a pure EV range of up to 100 km with its 21.2 kWh (usable) battery pack. It is very efficient in hybrid mode, while in full power mode it gives a thrilling driving experience.
