New Delhi. Executive sedan segment in India is currently going through a major change. The first C segment cars have increased in size and the D1 segment sedan such as Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, Skoda Octavia, VW Jetta and Hyundai Alantra have completely disappeared. But there is a D1 segment sedan of MG motor which has been updated in the My26 version in China and it is very much discussed. We are talking about the 2026 MG5 sedan, which is available for sale in China at an initial price of CNY 59,900, which is equal to about ₹ 7.1 lakh. This price is a value for money type deal according to the look and features of the car.

7.1 lakh to 8.3 lakh price
In China, if someone does not desire to own Hongqi L5, car prices are usually cheaper. The exemption is considered by the Chinese government's NEV manufacturers, but the competition of prices has made it enough that ice vehicles are also very cheap. The recently updated 2026 MG5 sedan is an example of this.

Dimensions

In size, the length of 2026 MG5 is 4,715 mm, width 1,842 mm, height 1,480 mm and 2,680 mm long wheelbase. Security has been strengthened by the use of 65% high-power steel, 6 airbags and other features. On the side, we can see the coupe sloping roofline that ends in a microscopic duttell spiiler in the back, where dual exhaust, sporty bumper and sleek LED tail lights attract attention.

Engine option
2026 MG5 has been introduced in 1.5L and 1.5T engine options. The first gives 127 bhp peak power and 158 Nm of torque, which is connected to CVT. The top speed is 180 km/h and fuel efficiency is 15.67 km/liter. The second gives more performance with a torque of 178 bhp and 285 Nm, which is connected to 7-speed DCT, top speed of 200 km/h, 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.9 seconds and 15.5 km/liter.
