Hyundai is going to give a bold, muscular and rugged look to the new Creta. The new generation will be built on the global K3 platform, which is stronger and more advanced than the current architecture. Due to this platform, the safety, handling and ride quality of the SUV is expected to improve.

Tata Sierra is better diesel or petrol? Know

If you are thinking of buying Tata Sierra, then the decision of diesel or petrol will depend on your annual running, driving style and budget. This mid-size SUV competes with vehicles like Creta and Seltos in the Indian market. Bold retro-modern design, loaded features, 5-star safety and three engine options (1.5 liter NA petrol, 1.5 liter turbo petrol and 1.5 liter diesel) make it special.

The petrol version is smooth, low noise and easy to maintain, while the diesel gives better mileage and torque. Petrol may be convenient for those who drive less in the city, diesel may be a wise decision for those who drive more on long distances and on the highway. Features and safety are almost similar in both. Let us know which of the two would be better to choose?

Which is better between diesel and petrol?

If we analyze the mileage, according to ARAI the diesel manual is capable of giving a mileage of up to 19-21 kmpl, while the petrol is capable of giving a mileage of up to 15-17 kmpl. In real world, diesel gives 14-17 kmpl in city and 18-21 kmpl on highway. Petrol is capable of giving efficiency of 11-14 kmpl in city and 15-17 kmpl in highway.

On running 12 thousand to 15 thousand KM annually, the per km cost of diesel is less (₹ 5-6/km vs ₹ 7-9/km) and savings can be up to Rs 1-1.5 lakh. Petrol is better on short running because its maintenance is cheaper and the vehicle can run for 15 years, whereas the limit of diesel engine car is only 10 years.

Diesel for what?

  • For heavy highway/long driving
  • Running 12,000+ KM annually
  • Need for better torque and load
  • For those looking for low running costs

Petrol for what?

  • Running low in most cities
  • For smooth, quiet and responsive driving
  • Low maintenance and easy servicing
  • Turbo petrol for performance lovers

Design and interior

The retro-modern look of Tata Sierra is a head-turner with the bold grille, strong wheel arches and LED lights. Its design gives more road presence and premium feel than Creta. The interior has a triple screen setup, premium materials, panoramic sunroof, JBL sound system and good spacing. Its cabin is quiet and family-friendly with comfortable seats.

Features and safety

It can be purchased with Level-2 ADAS, 360° camera, ventilated seats, wireless charging, powered tailgate. With a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, the Sierra gets 6-7 airbags, ESP, strong body and ADAS. From design to features, both the engine options are almost similar. The bottom line is that choose diesel for high running, petrol can be a better option for low running and city use.

It has the option of 8-speed torque converter and 7-speed DSG and the mileage comes out to around 18-20 kmpl.

At the same time, Honda Elevate comes only with 1.5 liter i-VTEC naturally aspirated engine, which generates power of 119 bhp. If you like exciting driving, the Taigun is better. If you want a reliable and smooth engine, Elevate should be your first choice.

The company is also planning to launch a 7-seater SUV in 2027.

nissan tecton
To start with this, the brand has shared some design details of Tekton, from which its look can be estimated. First of all, this vehicle has a square shaped design, which matches the modern design language of the brand. The lighting elements give it a modern appeal, while the muscular design of the bonnet gives it a powerful look. Along with this, the SUV has been given a wide grille, which covers the entire width of the vehicle.

Duster launch in January
Nissan Tecton is expected to be launched in India, which will come as a companion model to the new generation Renault Duster. Renault Duster is scheduled to be launched in January 2026. This upcoming Nissan SUV will share powertrain and features with Renault Duster. The Tekton will be produced and shipped from Nissan-Renault's manufacturing plant in Chennai, thereby establishing India as a manufacturing hub.

mid size suv
After launch, the Nissan Tekton will represent the brand in a highly competitive segment, making it a very important product for the automaker. Specifically, this vehicle will compete in the mid-size SUV segment, which includes India's best-selling vehicles like the Hyundai Creta. Its rivals include Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Highrider, Skoda Kushaq and others. To survive in the market, Tekton will have to be offered at a competitive price of around Rs 11 lakh.

gravity mpv
Gravity MPV will also be launched on the same pattern. However, its competition will be much less as it will compete with its sibling Renault Triber. It is noteworthy that recently the updated Triber has been launched in the country, in which major changes have been made in design, interior and features.

This car of Maruti has replaced the 'Lanka' of Grand Vitara and Brezza! Now turn of Creta and Nexon

New Delhi. A few days ago, when Maruti launched its Maruti Victoris SUV in India, the company would not have thought that it would get such a great response. But, this car has achieved many milestones as soon as it came into the market. Maruti Suzuki India Limited launched Victoris in the Indian market in September 2025. By October 2025, this mid-size SUV is poised to become an important model for the brand. According to the sales report for October 2025, this latest model of the brand has left behind its sibling Grand Vitara, where 13,496 units of Victoris were sold, while 10,409 units of Grand Vitara were sold.

Will be sold at Arena dealerships
While the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is sold through Nexa outlets, the Victoris is available at Arena dealerships. Although the exact reasons for the better performance of the Victoris are yet to be ascertained, the brand's strategy of making it available at arena dealerships seems to be succeeding, making the SUV affordable for a wider range of buyers.

starting price
Additionally, the starting price of Maruti Suzuki Victoris is Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Grand Vitara is priced at Rs 10.77 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a better option, especially when the feature package is taken into account. However, both SUVs have the same powertrain, which includes petrol, CNG and strong hybrid powertrain options.

New Maruti Victoris Launched - Specs, Features, & More!

Tough competition in the segment
Despite the current success of Victoris, competition in this segment remains stiff. Hyundai Creta continues to maintain its dominance in this segment. The South Korean SUV sold 18,381 units in October 2025, while other rivals like the Kia Seltos and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyrider were left far behind, with 7,130 units and 11,55 units sold respectively.

Waiting for Grand Vitara Electric
Maruti has not yet entered the electric car segment. The company's first electric car will be Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. The ICE model of this car is already very popular in the Indian market. This is why the company wants to capitalize on its popularity. Updates about this car keep coming out continuously. After launch, it will compete with Nexon and Windsor EV. Both these SUVs remain India's best selling electric cars. Tata had started making inroads in this segment long ago. For this reason, the company has the largest product portfolio in terms of EV. After the arrival of Maruti, competition in this segment is going to intensify further.
