These 5 features of Duster will be 'copy-pasted' in Nissan Tekton

Nissan India recently teased its upcoming compact SUV Tecton, which will share the platform with the Renault Duster. The Duster laid the foundation of the Indian compact SUV segment and has achieved success again in its second generation with a rugged design, great performance and a feature-packed cabin. Now its platform sharing partner Tekton is also going to enter the market.

In such a situation, it is natural that Nissan should include some of the best features of Duster in its new SUV to attract customers. This not only saves development costs, but also benefits from the strong share of both the brands. It will compete with competitors like Creta in the market, hence it is important to be equipped with premium comfort, safety and technology. Let us know those five important features which can be taken directly from Duster in Tecton.

Powered and Ventilated Seats

The new gen Duster has 6-way powered adjustable and ventilated front seats, which prove to be especially comfortable in summers. Nissan can also provide this feature in Tecton. This will reduce fatigue on long drives and make the cabin experience more premium. The demand for ventilation is increasing especially in the Indian climate, so this feature can attract young buyers.

powered tailgate

The powered tailgate available on the Duster is a convenient feature that helps in opening the boot easily even when carrying luggage. Its inclusion in Tecton will increase the premium feel of the SUV. In the busy life of the city, this small feature can make a big difference in daily use and will provide convenience to the customers while parking or shopping.

Level-2 ADAS Suite

Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) is very important from safety point of view. Features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking and blind spot monitoring have been provided in Duster. By including these in Tecton, it can become one of the safest vehicles in the segment. Considering the increasing traffic on Indian roads, this feature will prove to be very useful.

panoramic sunroof

The popularity of panoramic sunroof is continuously increasing among Indian buyers. The Duster offers one of the largest sunroofs in the segment, making the cabin more spacious, bright and premium. By adopting this in Nissan Tecton also, the cabin can be ventilated and modern. This feature in the family SUV will be attractive to both children and passengers.

Dual Large Screens

The new Duster has a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in and digital driver display, which gives a modern look to the cabin. These screens can also be used in Tecton. However, the user interface will be Nissan's own. This setup with wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Google Maps and connected car technology will make Tecton full of technology.

Overall, adopting these features of Duster will not only make Tecton powerful but will also be able to offer better value as per the price. It is to be launched in the Indian market next month i.e. in July 2026.

Nissan Tekton has been teased as Baby Harrier.

Nissan India has teased its upcoming SUV Tecton as 'Baby Patrol', which seems to be inspired by the brand's iconic SUV. The company has introduced this model for the first time in association with Nissan Patrol, which is ready for its world premiere in Mumbai on 9 July 2026. The Nissan Tekton takes its name from the Greek word 'tekton', meaning 'craftsman' or 'architect', reflecting its strong, premium and engineering design.

This compact SUV has been developed specifically for the Indian market and will share the platform with the Renault Duster. It will be produced at the Chennai plant under Nissan's 'One Car, One World' strategy. It will be exported to India as well as to select global markets. Tecton is going to compete with vehicles like Creta and Seltos. In the teaser images, its imposing front grille, connected LED DRLs and C-shaped headlamps give a rugged look like the Nissan Patrol. Let's take a look at the details from design to powertrain.

Design and Styling

By calling Tecton 'Baby Patrol', Nissan has directly inspired its design from Patrol. It has squared wheel arches, muscular stance, full-wide LED light bar and patrol-style taillights at the rear. The scoop and aluminum-style inserts on the hood add to the rough-and-tough appeal. The global design team has made it modern yet aggressive, which will strongly present the SUV DNA on Indian roads.

Platform and powertrain

It is built on the CMF-B platform, which is shared with Renault Duster. There is also a possibility of a hybrid variant with turbo petrol engine. Expected price could be between ₹10-19 lakh (ex-showroom), which will make it attractive in the segment.

Importance in Indian market

For Nissan India, the Tecton will be positioned above the Magnite. This is part of the company's comeback and portfolio expansion. This is the first big step in the plan to launch four new models by 2026-27. Customers are expecting a sturdy build, premium features and petrol-like presence.

upcoming features

Expected features include modern interiors, advanced infotainment, safety systems and a comfortable cabin. Complete details will be revealed on July 9.

This car will rock the world! New global compact SUV unveiled

New Delhi. Nissan has introduced its new compact SUV 'Kite' globally on 3 December. Kite has been launched as Nissan's entry-level SUV and will replace the 'Kicks Play' in Brazil. This SUV will play a strategic role for the company along with the latest generation Kicks and popular Magnite. The Kite will be manufactured at Nissan's Resende Industrial Complex, Brazil. The company is planning to export this model to more than 20 countries from 2026, which will strengthen its hold in South America and other markets.

Exterior and dimensions
The base platform of the Kite is similar to the earlier Kicks, but its design is more straight and sharp, making its look more attractive. It has split LED headlamps, new design DRL, wide grille with horizontal slats and updated alloy wheels. The side profile retains the rising beltline, roof rails and gently sloping roof. At the rear, Nissan has introduced slim LED tail-lamps and 'Kite' branding on the tailgate, while the number plate is now placed on the bumper. The length of the SUV is 4,304 mm and it has a boot space of 432 liters.

Interior and Features
The Kite's entry-level positioning remains intact on the interior, but several important upgrades have been made to it. Its black cabin layout is like Kicks, but it has new design air vents, simple gear selector and 60:40 split rear seats.

There will be four variants of Kite
Active, Sense Plus, Advanced Plus and Exclusive. It will have features like 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 9-inch Pioneer touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, automatic digital climate control, 360-degree camera and adaptive cruise control. Nissan will also provide the entire ADAS feature range in it, making it the most feature-rich SUV in its segment.

powertrain
The Kite is powered by Nissan's 1.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol (or flex-fuel) engine, which comes with a CVT gearbox. On petrol this engine gives 110bhp and 146Nm torque, while on ethanol the output is slightly higher. According to the company, its mileage in the city will be around 11kmpl. Its price in Brazil starts from around Rs 20 lakh and it will be exported to South American countries from 2026.
