Renault Kwid has been launched in the Indian market with many updates. The company has introduced this hatchback with a new design, easy variant line-up and attractive price. Now Kwid will be available in only two variants – Evolution and Climber, making it easier than ever for customers to choose the right model.

Its starting ex-showroom price has been kept at ₹ 4.53 lakh, while after the cash benefit of ₹ 15,000 on online purchase, the effective price of the fully-loaded Climber variant becomes ₹ 4.99 lakh. The company says that the new Kwid has been designed keeping in mind the needs and budget of first-time car buyers. Let's take a look at its design and engine-performance details. Design and interior

The new Renault Kwid has been updated with the company's new brand identity. It has SUV-inspired design, high ground clearance and strong road presence. The Climber variant has special exterior accents, wheel arch cladding and rugged body styling, which gives it a more sporty and premium look. Ground clearance of 184 mm makes it a strong option in its segment.

Dual-tone interior theme has been given in the cabin, which makes the look of the car look more modern. Apart from this, the boot space of 279 liters provides good practicality for everyday use. Keeping in mind easy driving in the city, its compact size has also been maintained.

Features and safety

The new Kwid has an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. With this, features like fully digital LED instrument cluster, rear view camera, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, remote keyless entry, central locking, power windows and power steering are available. Rotary dial gear selector is also provided in AMT variant.

In terms of safety, a total of 17 standard safety features have been provided in the new Kwid. These include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belt reminder and rear view camera with guidelines, which make driving safer.

The new Kwid has a 1.0-litre petrol engine, which has been designed to balance performance and fuel efficiency. For transmission, it has the option of 5-speed manual and Easy-R AMT, which provides convenience in both city traffic and everyday driving.
