Which variant of Renault Triber is best? If you plan to buy, then know

Renault Tribe has been updated recently. This 7-seater MPV is known for its modular seating, spacious cabin and affordable price. In the 2026 model year, it has been updated with some new features like automatic climate control etc. It is available with a 1.0 liter 3-cylinder petrol engine (72 PS power, 96 Nm torque) mated to 5-speed manual or AMT automatic transmission, which gives a mileage of around 20 kmpl. Ground clearance is 182 mm and boot space increases to 1065 liters when the third row is removed.

Its ex-showroom prices start from ₹5.81 lakh (Authentic) to ₹6.70 lakh for Evolution, ₹7.39 lakh for Techno and ₹8.00 lakh for Emotion (AMT option top variant ₹8.69 lakh). Renault Triber Authentic Variants

The base variant Authentic of the Triber is the most affordable option, which is perfect for families who need a basic 7-seater but are on a tight budget. It comes with projector headlamps, body-coloured bumpers and 14-inch steel wheels. The biggest feature of the cabin is modular seating. The second row seats can slide, recline, one-touch fold and tumble, while the third row seats can be easily removed. This significantly increases the boot space in 5-seater mode and up to 1065 liters of cargo space is available in 2-seater flat floor mode. This feature is very useful for Indian families.

The interior gets manual AC, power windows, tilt adjustable steering, LED digital instrument cluster, 12V power socket and black upholstery. There is a USB charging port on the front. However, the infotainment system is not in the base variant, which may disappoint some buyers. But the basic features like rear power windows and flexible seating make it valuable.

For safety, it has standard 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, three-point seatbelts on all seats and seatbelt reminder. These features make it a safe option in the segment. Ground clearance of 182 mm makes driving easily even on bad roads.

Renault Triber Evolution Variants

This variant also has 14-inch wheels, but some styling updates may be available. The main change is in the interior. It has an 8-inch or 20.32 cm floating touchscreen infotainment system, which supports wired Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. Audio quality is better with 4 speakers. A rear camera is also standard, which makes parking easier.

The seating and space are the same modular system. The second row is slide-recline-tumble and the third row is removable. Grab handles are found in the second and third row. The AC vents are with better distribution. Manual AC continues, but the cabin feels more premium. Power windows, tilt steering etc. are carry forward from the base. Safety features are almost the same as Authentic, but rear camera and infotainment system have been added for additional comfort.

Renault Triber Techno Variants

This variant gets LED tail lamps, roof rails (50 kg load capacity), 15-inch steel wheels with covers, door decals, turn indicators on ORVMs and some chrome accents. This makes the look a little more premium. Roof rails help in storing luggage on long trips.

The interior features driver seat armrest, steering mounted audio and phone controls, cooled center console, 12V socket in the second row, rear wiper and washer, dual-tone upholstery, upper glove box, chrome AC controls and rear seat lighting. The infotainment system is bigger and better. Day-night IRVM is also provided. Safety features are strong. It also gets all the standard safety systems with 6 airbags.

Renault Triber Emotion Variants

Emotion is the top-spec variant, which has almost all the premium features. It has automatic headlamps, cruise control, auto climate control, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, push button start, driver seat height adjustment, auto-fold ORVMs, fog lamps, LED DRLs, rear defogger, front parking sensors etc.

The seating is modular, the cabin gives a more premium feel. All advanced safety features are standard. Emotion variant is best for families seeking luxury and comfort. The AMT option makes driving in city traffic easier. This variant showcases the full potential of Triber and is equipped with all the comfort features.

The Renault Triber has long been known as one of India's most practical and affordable seven-seaters. Now, with its 2025 facelift, Renault has refreshed its appeal for urban families who want space, versatility and value in a single package.

First launched in 2019, the Triber became increasingly popular among budget-conscious buyers due to its flexible seating and easy-to-drive features. The latest update focuses on design changes, new features and a more refined cabin experience, while the tried and tested 1.0-litre petrol engine is mated to a 5-speed manual or EZ-R AMT gearbox.

But beyond what is visible on the brochure, the real question is how the Triber facelift performs in real-world conditions. To find out, HT Auto conducted a city fuel-efficiency test under everyday traffic scenarios, and the results paint a clear picture of its urban mileage.

What were the conditions for this test?

The test was conducted in four different cities, each of which represented different levels of traffic congestion, from slow-moving peak-hour traffic to relatively free-flowing stretches.

The test car was the 'Emotion' trim equipped with the EZ-R AMT transmission. The manual air-conditioner was left on throughout the drive, set to 'cool' with fan speed at level 1.

During testing, the car was driven at a maximum speed of 60 km/h, while the average speed for the overall journey was 15.9 km/h. The car covered a total distance of 70.3 km in a duration of 4 hours and 30 minutes.

What were the test results?

The Triber facelift returned fuel efficiency figures of 6 km/l, 7 km/l, 10 km/l and 14 km/l in four cities, depending on traffic density.

While lower figures were seen during heavy stop-and-go traffic, higher numbers came from smoother stretches with fewer stops. The average of these runs gives a real-world mileage of around 9.25 km/l. This is impressive for the AMT transmission, but not so much for the weak 1.0 petrol doing the job.

Despite these numbers, Triber remains one of the most accessible and versatile options for Indian families, offering space, comfort and ease of driving at a price that no rival can match.
