Strengthening its premium SUV line-up, Volkswagen India has launched the 5-seater variant of Tayron in the Indian market at a starting price of ₹ 41.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Considered to be an extended version of Tiguan R-Line, this model is built on the MQB EVO platform. It is an attractive option for family users and performance seekers, which will compete with vehicles like Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner petrol variants and Jeep Meridian.

The price has been kept competitive due to local assembly, which makes it value for money in the premium segment. Tayron offers a combination of modern design, spacious cabin, advanced features and powerful performance. It will be perfect for those customers who do not need a 7-seater but want more luggage space and luxury. With the launch, the company has also started pre-booking.

Design and interior

The exterior of Tayron is bold and premium. It is 253 mm longer than the Tiguan, which includes a 109 mm longer wheelbase. Overall length is 4,792 mm, width is 1,866 mm and height is 1,665 mm. At the front, IQ.Light HD Matrix LED headlamps come with light bar and illuminated VW logo. The R-Line body kit, sporty bumpers, 19-inch alloy wheels and gloss black elements give it an aggressive look. At the rear, a faux diffuser, roof spoiler and honeycomb pattern bumper add to the premium appeal. This SUV creates a strong presence on the road.

The cabin is filled with high-quality materials and minimalist design. The dual display setup (15-inch touchscreen + 10.25-inch digital cluster), 3-spoke steering and ambient lighting give a premium feel. Honda Cars India is going to launch ZR-V hybrid SUV in the Indian market tomorrow i.e. on 22 May 2026.
