Kia is playing big bets in 2026-2027 to strengthen its SUV lineup in the Indian market. The company is focusing on hybrid and electric technology, which will meet the needs of customers keeping in mind the rising fuel prices and environmental concerns. Upcoming models include Syros EV, Sorento Hybrid, Seltos Hybrid and next-generation Sonet, which will target different segments.

Syros EV will bring affordable options in the sub-compact EV space, while Sorento will offer a premium 7-seater experience. The Seltos Hybrid will offer a combination of better mileage and performance in a mid-size SUV and the new Sonet will further increase its popularity. These launches will strengthen Kia's India specific strategy, which includes local production, advanced features and competitive pricing. Let us take a look at the details ranging from their possible design to price.

Kia Syros EV

Cyros EV is expected to be launched around July-August 2026. This sub-compact electric SUV will be built on the platform of Hyundai Creta Electric. It will be offered with 42 kWh and 49 kWh battery pack options. Estimated real-world range will be 300-400 kms, which is suitable for both city and highway driving. Features will include panoramic sunroof, fully digital instrument cluster, large touchscreen, connected car technology, Level 2 ADAS and high safety standards.

Like the ICE Vasi Syros, it will get premium interior and exterior design. The expected price is likely to be between ₹14 lakh to ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom), which will make it attractive compared to competitors like Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV. This will strengthen Kia's entry in the EV market and promote affordable electric mobility.

Kia Sorento Hybrid

Sorento Hybrid will be a premium 3-row 7-seater full-size SUV, which will be approximately 4.8 meters long. It may be launched in late 2026 (October-November). It will have a strong hybrid system with 1.5L or 1.6L turbo petrol engine, which will provide better mileage, torque assist and smooth performance. Luxury features like dual 12.3-inch display, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, 360-degree camera, premium cabin and top-class ADAS safety suite will be available.

AWD option is also possible. It will compete with vehicles like Toyota Fortuner. Ex-showroom price can range between ₹ 30 lakh to ₹ 45 lakh. This price will make it a strong contender in the premium family SUV segment. With hybrid technology, it will offer affordable luxury on long drives.

Kia Seltos Hybrid

Seltos Hybrid is going to be launched next year. It will be based on the success of the existing Seltos and will offer a hybrid system with a 1.5 liter NA petrol engine, which can deliver 25 kmpl+ mileage in the city. With better power delivery and low emissions, it will be a balanced choice in the mid-size SUV segment. Features like ADAS Level 2+, panoramic sunroof, Bose audio, dual display and high safety features will remain intact or will be upgraded. The price will be controlled through local hybrid components. Expected price could be around ₹19-25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Next-gen Kia Sonet

The next-generation Kia Sonet is expected to be launched in early 2027 (February). Built on the new K1 platform, this sub-compact SUV will bring better rear seat space with a longer wheelbase, 5-star Bharat NCAP safety, larger 12.3-inch dual display, Level 2 ADAS, 360 camera and updated design. Engine options will continue to be 1.2L petrol, 1.0L turbo and 1.5L diesel. Equipped with features and tech, it will further increase the popularity of the existing Sonet.
