Tata will launch 6 new vehicles in the Indian market.

Tata Motors has made a future plan to take its passenger vehicle business to new heights. The company, which currently has 9 models, is planning to expand its lineup to 15 models by FY2031. The plan presented at the Investor Day includes more than 20 product interventions over the next five years, including 6 completely new nameplates, facelifts, powertrain upgrades and new variants.

Through this strategy, Tata aims to achieve 18-20 percent share in the Indian passenger vehicle market. The company will not only strengthen the existing segments but will also enter new segments, so that customers can get more options. Tata is preparing to reshape the future of mobility with a focus on EV and CNG. Overall, this plan focuses on doubling the company's annual sales and increasing production capacity.

New models and segment expansion

The main basis of Tata's strategy is the launch of 6 new models. The most talked about among these is Tata Sierra EV, which is going to be unveiled on June 30. After this, the all-electric Safari EV is expected to be launched in the festive season. Apart from this, next-generation EV range AVINYA will also be launched in the market soon. These launches will strengthen the company in SUV, crossover and premium segments.

Emphasis on electric mobility

Tata Motors considers EV a big part of the future. The company wants to have 30 percent share of EV in its passenger vehicle sales by FY2031. There are plans to increase the EV portfolio from 6 to 10 models. The company estimates that by 2030 the share of EV in the Indian market will reach 15-20 percent. Also giving importance to CNG vehicles, a target of 45 percent market share has been set for EV and CNG combined.

Sales and production targets

Tata, which is currently selling around 6.4 lakh units annually, aims to sell more than 12 lakh units annually by FY2031. For this, there are preparations to increase the production capacity from 9 lakh to 13 lakh units annually. This expansion will help the company to meet the increasing demand in the next 2-3 years.
