The Sierra comes with a powered driver seat with memory function, but the co-driver seat comes with manual adjustment. This is not a major drawback, but this feature is available in the Creta and it could have been included in the feature-loaded Sierra as well.

Another feature which is in Creta but not in Sierra – Powered Boss Mode. With the amount of space available on the rear seat, Powered Boss Mode could have further enhanced the luxury experience. The teaser shows that this car is going to come with triple screen setup, this is a very special feature in itself. Because, you will rarely find such cars which have triple screen setup. However, these features of Sierra will be available only in high end variants. This feature will not be provided in the base variant.

The new teaser shows that the company has paid a lot of attention to the Sierra's dashboard, revealing a 3-screen setup – a design previously seen on test mules. Two of these screens serve as infotainment displays, and while Tata hasn't revealed the user interface, the teaser suggests that both displays can mirror the same content, giving passengers better access to entertainment or navigation data. Borrowing interior bits from the Curve, the Sierra gets a touch-based climate control panel, with buttons for a powered tailgate, a 360-degree camera and dual-zone temperature control with a 'Sync' option. The teaser also shows a 4-spoke steering wheel with a Tata logo and touch-sensitive controls, as well as an auto-dimming IRVM. The dual-tone gray and black cabin theme also resembles the design language seen on the Curve EV.

The Tata Sierra first appeared in 1991, becoming India's first indigenously developed lifestyle SUV. Its bold three-door layout and signature wraparound rear glass made it instantly recognizable on Indian roads. The model was discontinued in the early 2000s, but the name still resonates among enthusiasts who grew up admiring its design.

Now, more than two decades later, Tata is bringing back the Sierra as a five-door SUV, modernized for 2025 while retaining the cues of its distinctive silhouette.

New Delhi. Tata Motors is in the final stages of preparations for the launch of its mega product – the all-new Sierra. This new midsize SUV will come with petrol, diesel and electric engine options. The Tata Sierra EV is expected to go on sale in November, while the ICE-powered version is likely to arrive in January 2026.

engine option

The all-new Sierra will be powered by 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5L turbocharged petrol engines. Initially, the SUV will be offered only with NA petrol engine. The turbo-petrol motor coming later will give maximum power of 170bhp and torque of 280Nm.

diesel engine
The diesel version is likely to have a 2.0L turbo engine taken from the Harrier. This engine generates maximum power of 170bhp and torque of 350Nm. Transmission options are expected to include 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic. Higher trims will be offered exclusively with AWD (all-wheel drive) system. Tata Sierra will initially be introduced with electric powertrain, which will probably be taken from the Harrier EV. The Harrier EV has a single motor with 65kwh battery and single and dual motors with 75kwh battery pack. The small battery version gives a range of 538km, while the big battery variant gives 627km (75kh RWD) and 622km (75KWH AWD). In 2026, petrol and diesel version ICE-guard Sierra will have a new 1.5L natural aspirated petrol and 2.0L diesel engines early next year. Later, a new, more powerful 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine will be added to the SUV model lineup.

Keeping this in mind, the initial price of Sierra EV is expected to be around Rs 18-19 lakh and the top-end variant with big battery packs can cost around Rs 25 lakh.
