The Model Y is offered in India as a completely built unit (CBU) and is available in rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configuration. It comes in two variants – Standard RWD which is priced at Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom) and Long Range RWD which is priced at Rs 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Since its launch in India in July 2025, Tesla has offered the Model Y in two trims – Standard RWD and Long Range RWD. The Long Range variant, designed for drivers seeking maximum range and performance, now comes with an upgraded 84.2kWh battery, giving it a range of 661 km on a single charge as per WLTP standards. Despite the increase in battery capacity, the rear-axle-mounted electric motor remains the same, helping it accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 5.6 seconds.

No change in standard trim
The standard RWD trim, which is aimed at entry-level EV buyers, still comes with its 64kWh battery with a WLTP range of 500 km, accelerating to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds.

The model Y is available in two versions, which have 63 kwh and 83 kwh battery packs. Standard rear-dry-drive offers 500 km WLTP range and catchs 0 to 100 kmph speed in 5.9 seconds. The top version, long range rear-wheel drive, holds 0 to 100 kmph speed in 5.6 seconds and offers 622 km WLTP range.

Using 250 kwh supercharger, the long range offers a 267 km range in 15 minutes. Tesla has revealed that it will set up eight supercharges in Mumbai and Delhi.

With 120 KW Charger, the Harrier is charged in 20% to 80% in 25 minutes. The all-wheel-drive version is the only med-in-India EV with a twin-motor setup and its output is 390 bhp and 504 Nm. It catches the speed of 0 to 100 kmph in 6.3 seconds. Harrier EV has received a 5-star security rating from India NCAP and has boosts like seven airbags, level 2 adas and additional drive modes. It has six terrain modes-normal, snow/grass, mud-khats, sand, rock craws and customs.

With 140 kw DC charger, it charges 20% to 80% in 20 minutes.

In Mumbai, Tesla has announced to build four major charging stations in major areas like Lower Parel, BKC, Navi Mumbai and Thane. It will have 16 supercharges and 16 destination charger.

In its official statement, Tesla said that the company has prepared a complete ecosystem around electric vehicles in India and has prepared a big blueprint for development.

The company already operates more than 7,000 supercharging stations with more than 70,000 supercharges worldwide.

Giving a big boost to India's employment market, Tesla has confirmed that it will be completely dependent on the local talent.

Tesla's first showroom is open in BKC, Mumbai. After Mumbai, the company will open its showroom in Delhi. Today the showroom had Tesla model Y and Model 3 cars on the display.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also arrived on the occasion and inaugurated the first showroom of Tesla. After the opening of Tesla's showroom, there was a lot of enthusiasm among the people.

Tesla says that after the entry in India, only the local talent will be offered jobs. This will create new employment opportunities for people in Delhi and Mumbai.

According to Tesla's official website, delivery of this version will start from Q3 2025. It is available in 6 color options, with only the stealth gray standard.

19-inch alloy wheels standard

The rear-wheel drive trim consists of 19-inch alloy wheels standard and offers two cabin color options. It consists of all-black interiors standard, while the price of black and white options is Rs 95,000 more. Tesla is introducing full self-driving capability autonomous package at an additional price of Rs 6 lakh.

Long range rear-wheel drive
The top version, long range rear-wheel drive, the initial price is Rs 67.89 lakh ex-showroom, and the on-road price is Rs 71,90,490, including a GST of Rs 3,44,246. Like the rear-wheel drive version, long range rear-wheel drive trim is also available in 6 color options, which has only stealth gray standard option. The remaining five colors come in premium.

According to Tesla, the entry-level model Y rear-driving version offers 500 km of WLTP driving range. It catches 0 – 100 kmph speed in 5.9 seconds and its top speed is 201 kmph. On the other hand, the long range rear-wheel drive's driving range is 622 km and it catchs 0-100 kmph in 5.6 seconds. The top speed of the premium version is also 201 km per hour.
