The XUV 7XO is better for those who like adventurous looks, while the Alcazar will suit those who want soft and family-oriented styling.

Cabin and Comfort

Both come with premium interior. The XUV 7XO features dual 10.25-inch screens, ventilated seats (front + second row), panoramic sunroof and high quality materials. Space is very good, even the third row is usable for adults. The cabin of the Alcazar is refined and luxurious. There is superior fit-finish, soft-touch materials, ambient lighting and comfortable seating. The Alcazar is available in a 6-seater option (captain seats), which is more practical for families. The XUV 7XO features level-2 ADAS, 540° camera, high-end audio, wireless charging, dual zone climate and a host of connected car tech. Alcazar is also feature loaded. Talking about safety, XUV 7XO has achieved 5-star rating in Bharat NCAP. It has 7 airbags, strong body structure and advanced ADAS. The Alcazar has 6 airbags, Hyundai SmartSense (ADAS), ABS, EBD and good safety features, but is considered to be a little behind the XUV 7XO in the NCAP test. XUV 7XO is a better option if safety is a priority.

Engine and Mileage

Mahindra XUV 7XO comes with powerful engine options. It has a 2.0 liter turbo petrol engine, which produces 200 bhp power and 380 Nm torque, while the 2.2 liter diesel engine produces 182 bhp power and 450 Nm torque. AWD option is also available in diesel variant. This SUV is very fun and powerful for overtaking and long drives on the highway. According to ARAI, the mileage of petrol variant is around 13-17 kmpl and that of diesel is around 15-17 kmpl.

On the other hand, Hyundai Alcazar offers a more refined and fuel efficient engine. In this, the 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine gives 157 bhp power, while the 1.5 liter diesel engine comes with 115 bhp power and 250 Nm torque. Alcazar City feels more smooth and comfortable in driving and daily use. It gives better mileage. The mileage is around 17.5 kmpl in petrol and 18-20.4 kmpl (ARAI) in diesel.

Mahindra has created a new record in its premium SUV segment. The delivery of the company's newly launched Mahindra XUV 7XO has reached more than 20,000 units in just three months. This achievement reflects the company's strong hold in the Indian automobile market and the trust of consumers. The demand for this model has been continuously increasing since its launch in January 2026, which further strengthens Mahindra's SUV lineup.

Mahindra XUV 7XO is actually a facelift version of XUV700, which was introduced by the company in January 2026. At the time of launch, it was offered at an attractive introductory price, which starts at just Rs 13.66 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant AX petrol manual. In top variants it goes for around Rs 24 lakh.

The company has clarified that these introductory prices will be effective till the first 40,000 customer deliveries. Recently, Mahindra had announced a price hike of up to 2.5 percent in its ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) SUV range, but the XUV 7XO has been saved from this increase. The old price will remain intact till the first 40,000 bookings or deliveries, due to which early buyers are getting benefit.

If we look at the sales figures, 10,133 units were sold in the first month of delivery starting in January 2026. In February this figure was 9,112 units, whereas in March 2026, sales of 9,210 units were recorded. Overall, retail sales of around 28,455 units were achieved in three months, with the milestone of 20,000 deliveries soon being crossed.

This performance is also commendable because in the initial months, only the high-end variants (AX7, AX7 Tech and AX7 L), which are priced above Rs 20 lakh, were being delivered. Now the delivery of lower and mid variants (AX, AX3, AX5) is starting from April, due to which the demand is expected to increase further.

Features and Specifications

Many new technologies and features have been provided in XUV 7XO, which give it a distinct identity in the segment. This includes Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), panoramic sunroof, premium interior, powerful petrol and diesel engine options. With 7-seater configuration it is perfect for family use. Mahindra launched this new model, taking forward the record of selling more than 3 lakh units of XUV700, which is now building on the success of XUV700.

XUV 7XO is competing with competitors like Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector Plus in the market. Plans are also underway to increase the production capacity at the company's Chakan plant, so that the increasing demand can be met. Talking about bookings, at the time of launch, more than 93,000 bookings were registered with XUV7XO and other models, whose value is more than Rs 20,500 crore.
