As a result of this, Tata Motors' sale in India saw a big decline.
Domestic auto chief Tata Motors saw a significant decline in retail sales of its electric passenger vehicles (PVS) in February 2025, while JSW MG Motor India took a good lead in this month. Tata sold 3,825 units electric PVS in February 2025, which is a year-on-year (YOY) decline of 25.63% compared to 5,143 units sold in the same month of the previous year. This information is received from the data of the Automobile Dealers Association (FADA).
Tata and MG's portfolio
The company introduces electric PVS like tiago.ev, tigor.ev, punch.ev, nexon.ev and curvv.ev. JSW Mg sales increased by 198.36% YOY to 3,270 units in February 2025, which was 1,096 units in the same month last year. Its electric PV portfolio includes COMET, Windsor and ZS.
FADA data
According to FADA data, a total of 8,968 units electric PVS were sold in February 2025, compared to 7,539 units sold in February 2024, 18.95% yoy growth. At 8,968 units, Electric PVS took 3% of the total PVS (3,03,398 units) sold in India in February 2025.
