New Delhi. Mercedes-Benz India has recalled some models of its luxury sedan Maybach S-Class. The reason for the recall has been attributed to a possible flaw in the car's electronic control unit (ECU) software. Due to this flaw, there is a danger of increasing the temperature of the exhaust system and causing damage to other components associated with it. A total of 386 cars are included in the recall, which were manufactured between April 2021 and January 2024.
According to a statement issued by Mercedes-Benz, the car's exhaust system may overheat due to a flaw in the ECU software. This can result in damage to critical components such as the engine wiring harness and catalytic converter, increasing the risk of fire. The company has taken this step keeping the safety of customers in mind and the affected vehicles will be checked and repaired free of cost.
Which models are affected?
This problem has been found only in those models which were manufactured between April 29, 2021 and January 27, 2024. The company is contacting affected vehicle owners and instructing them to bring their vehicles to the nearest dealership.
What are the options for customers?
Mercedes-Benz has clarified that all necessary repairs and software updates will be done by the company free of cost. Customers will not have to pay any additional charges for this. Affected vehicle owners will be informed through call, message or email.
