Actually, the first unit of Mahindra Thar Rocks has been sold through auction to Akash Minda, Executive Director of Minda Corporation Limited. The first Mahindra Thar Rocks with number plate 001 has been delivered to Akash Minda from the Mahindra dealership in Delhi.
Akash Minda has purchased the first unit of Thar Rocks through auction for Rs 1.31 crore. Let us tell you that Akash Minda had also bought the 3 door model of Thar in the auction in the year 2020. Top variant delivered
In fact, the first unit of Thar Rocks delivered is a fully loaded AX7 L automatic 4X4 diesel model which is equipped with many luxury features. Some of the top features of this model include Level-2 ADAS system, ventilated seats, premium Harman Kardon sound system. A special badge of the first unit has also been installed on this car, in which the number '01' is written along with the signature of Anand Mahindra, which shows that this is the first unit.
Double the number of bids than the old version
The auction of the first unit of Mahindra Thar Rocks was held on 15 and 16 September, in which the starting price was kept at Rs 25 lakh. Within just 24 hours, the bidding reached more than Rs 1 crore. The event saw over 10,980 registrations, almost double the number of previous Thar 3-door model auctions.
Mahindra's matching contribution with all funds raised from the auction will be donated to the Nandi Foundation, which focuses on improving the lives of farmers and girls in India.
Mahindra Thar Rocks Engine Options
Mahindra Thar Rocks is available in two engine options which include 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel. The model put in the auction is equipped with a 2.2-liter diesel engine, which generates 172bhp power and 370Nm torque. It includes a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 4-wheel drive system with low range. When bookings opened on October 3, it witnessed huge interest, with 1.76 lakh units booked in just one hour.
Akash Minda, Executive Director, Minda Corporation Limited expressed his keenness to strengthen the legacy of this iconic SUV. He stressed the importance of this auction and said that it is a medium that supports causes beneficial to humanity.
