New Delhi. Maruti Suzuki India Limited has created a record of cumulative production of 1 crore cars at its Manesar facility. The company has achieved this feat in just 18 years, making the Manesar plant one of the fastest units in the world to produce 1 crore cars.

On this occasion, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “We thank our customers for always trusting us for this great achievement. “At the same time, I express my gratitude to our employees, business partners and the Government of India for their continued support.”

He further said, “Completing production of 1 crore units at the Manesar plant is a testament to our commitment towards 'Make in India'. We have been successful in building a strong supply chain in India, through which we are providing employment to millions of people. “With this, we are contributing to making the automobile industry self-reliant and globally competitive.”

Manesar plant is spread over 600 acres
The Manesar plant is spread over 600 acres and was started in October 2006. At this facility, the company produces cars like Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, Ciaz, Dezire, Wagon R, S-Presso and Celerio, which are exported to the domestic market and countries in Latin America, Middle East, Africa and Asia. . Baleno is also manufactured here, which was the first passenger car of Maruti Suzuki to be exported to Japan.
