MG Motor India is going to introduce a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV next month i.e. on 16 July 2026, which will be based on the Wuling Starlight 560 available in the global market. A patent has been filed by SAIC-GM Wuling in India in March 2026, in which there are hints of MG branding. This launch will mark the company's formal entry into the PHEV segment in India, where options are currently limited.

The name of the model has not been announced yet, but the company's teaser says, 'Internet Inside has changed driving in India. Now the time has come for the next evolution of new energy vehicles.
